Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt is quite remote and it would be nice if it had some food and drink options other than dinner
Very clean and the dinner was excellent.

Spacious and comfortable in rural setting. They do pickup at Casanova around check-in time. Easy walk back to the Camino in the morning. Might as well have dinner there as no other options within a km. Very comfortable beds.

United KingdomLovely grounds, but nowhere to sit out, except one 2 seater wooden bench! No Bar, but you could get either red wine or beer from the cook (bit awkward).
Lovely venue, beautiful surroundings. 1.5 km off the Camino trail, down tiny country lanes. Hosts took us back to join up early the following morning. Set menu for evening meal (only thing on offer) was fabulous, Thank You! Beds really comfy and room was ok, but only place to sit was on your bed

AustraliaWe didn't mind that casa bolboreta is 2km off the Camino but some might. We liked the walk. It was very pleasant- not a problem. Wifi was a bit weak
Lovely spacious room. Delightful hot showers. Quiet place (so good!). The fluffiest, snuggliest doona that I didn't want to get out of bed. Best breakfast on the Camino. We would definitely stay again. Beautiful room. Very comfortable mattresses (were they new? They were so good.) We would definitely stay again! The room was dark enough to sleep. The bedside light was bright and good for reading in bed under that doona.

United StatesThis property is off the Camino. The proprietor will pick you up, and drop you back on the Camino. However, inconvenient to the walk, it is perfectly comfortable stay and quiet.
The nicely renovated rural house. A family owned and operated with the family rite on site. The dining and restaurant were a distinctly positive experience. We enjoyed some of the best food of our entire stay in Spain. Some delicious and creative offerings. The family were very attentive and supportive.

United StatesA little off the path but made for an easier next day!
Amazing hospitality. The best stop we've had on the Camino. The farm-to-table dinner was the most amazing meal after an 18 mile hike! The extra hike to get there was well worth it. I would definitely return.

SwitzerlandIf you are walking the Camino this is off the trail and you have to be picked up from Casanova and make sure you have snacks with you as there are no stores nearby. Great hospitality and a quiet place to spend the night. It has a feeling of a mountain chalet in it.

United StatesPatricia and the staff were kind and welcoming. The dinner menu at their restaurant was one of the best meals we had while in Spain. The care and attention to detail shows. Would highly recommend. The only down side is that we booked this while walking the Camino Frances and it added 5km to an already long walking day in the heat. Just be aware when booking for your Camino. But it is worth the stay!

United StatesBeautiful location. Excellent food! Best meal on the Camino! I would rtn to this location except that it is my understanding it is being handed back to the owner who runs a hostel that I have heard from others is not at all to the level of this professionalism and care.

United StatesThe place itself is further than Palas de Rei, so the location wasn't the best, but a great atmosphere and comfortable accommodations if you can make the extra 5km!
The staff was nice and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. very nice to have a great hot shower after a day of walking the camino. Loved that they were pet friendly.

PanamaIf you stretch your stage from Arzua to Casanova you will make the next stage shorter. So this was our longest walk. Still the experience of staying in this farm made the longer walk worth it

United StatesCasa Bolboreta served the best food we had on our Camino. Because it’s slightly off the trail, it was also a great break from the more crowded stops. I cannot recommend it enough. Friendly staff. Lovely guest rooms and common areas. I would absolutely stay again, on another Camino journey or simply a vacation.

United StatesMore of a fact than something I don't like, but I do want to stress that you would have a long walking day if you are starting from Portomarin as this is 5k further than Palas de Rei. When you arrive in Casanova, the family that owns the property will pick up up and drive you there. However, you will walk back to the Way the next morning. It is not a long walk, but please keep it in mind. On the plus side, the family gives you good lunch recommendations along the way, and you will have a shorter walk to Arzua :)
The house was lovely and the rooms were large, comfortable and well decorated. The meal was EXCEPTIONAL! It made walking the extra 5km absolutely worth it! The bed and pillows were also perfect and extremely comfortable. The next morning, my knee was hurting from the walk and the family/owner was so gracious, providing me with ice and calling a taxi for me. Great hospitality
