We booked a room with three twin beds but we only got one bed, which was really inconvenient. They should have stated that this would be the case because I would have looked for alternative accommodation. As it was, the booking was prepaid so we had to stay there. Management just said all the rooms were booked and that there was nothing they could do 🙄

Location is very good, close to all the key sites, the system to get in and out is very convenient, and it was super clean, with the room being refreshed daily. There's a 24/7 convenience store right next door which was so handy when I forgot my adaptor to charge my phone. It's a good base for a short visit to Barcelona if you don't plan on spending much time there.

The staff was very accommodating. The room was clean and tidy. Location is just walking distance to tourist spots. My family had a lovely stay. Wish we had a few more days to spare.

The rooms are very tiny and there is no balcony. It was also very noisy from washingmachines and other guests.

Most went well. The personal was very helpful and cooperated well. The breakfast was in a little bar very friendly.

There is some miscommunication about the check-in and check-out times, but it didn’t end up being too much of an issue. I was able to keep my luggage in my room while it was straightened up.

Um… maybe, to said something, that we did not realise that we need to put a sign in the door to be clean.

The location!!!! The hotel is in the middle of Barcelona, 10 min from plaza Catalunya and 10 min from Paseo de Gracia. Completed silent in the night and beds are so comfortable. We have a family room and just perfect with a little terrace.

Everthing was completely remote through whatsapp, no one was there to greet us or for us to ask questions. For me personally, the personal touch is important but other than that everything was working well. It was a little difficult to understand where to go for breakfast, but we eventually understood from the notes left on the bed.

The room was very clean and tidy, the location was very close to plaza Catalunya.

They charge for late check in though it was not clearly stated on the site and no one was there. It was a digital key so why charge for something they already have and are not needing a human to assist with.

I wish parking was easier. They recommended the Windsor which was 24 euro a day, but if we didn't have a car, the location is PERFECT.

I loved the location and amenities. We had our own mini fridge and secluded balcony. The staff was lovely. She took great care of us, even if we had an odd request.

The room needs a little freshing up (some parts/chairs/doorhandles need replacing). The internal walls separating the rooms and the corridor are very thin, with no soundproofing. You can hear everything going on like its right next to you (but curiously enough, not the traffic outside:) What we didnt like the most was the breakfast. It is being served in a gay bar nearby. Not that we have a particular problem with gays, they can do whatever they wish in their lives. But we didnt like the choice of this place for breakfast, especially for a family. We wouldnt go over there even by pure choice - we didnt like it from the outside. So we felt even weirder having to go there with our baby. Anyway, we went the first time. The place was very small and stuffy, it didnt feel particularly clean and they didnt have most of the basic things written in the "breakfast" menu. They didnt have tortillas, they didnt have croissants, they didnt even have orange juice. Then, the next day I was running late so, instead of going back and forth, my husband went to take the breakfast for us and bring it to our room. This time, their behavior was rude to him and not polite as the first day. They said they could not give him any kind of breakfast because they didnt have wraps for takeaway. Then when he said no problem he could take it in hand (a sandwich for example) they said this is not the deal they had with the hostal and denied giving him anything. So we decided not to go again due to their rude manners and overall unsatisfactory experience of the first day. Obviously the deal is to have breakfast over there so as to show that the store has traffic but I m sorry Barcelona City Hostal, its a bad choice for your customers. We paid for 4 nights including breakfast and we had "breakfast" only once. And if we were talking about a good quality breakfast, I wouldnt even object the place.

The cleanliness was impecable. Every day they made our room and changed the towels. The location was also very convenient, close to 3 metro stations and sights worth visiting. The room simple but adequate for our needs. It had a little balcony with view to the main street which was nice.
