Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe came slightly out of season and there isn't anywhere to eat warm food in the evenings n the village (not on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday evening). The hotel provides an excellent cold evening meal if requested but it would be lovely to have maybe one or two warm options also in particular on the nights when no other restaurant offers a warm evening meal in the village.

United KingdomNothing to dislike.
Fabulous renovated property in this beautiful village. Stunning room. We had the Superior King, but I guess that all the rooms have been done to the same exceptional standard - better than most top quality hotels. Every item in the room merited a second glance; such clever and thoughtful design. Even the bathroom surprised. The view from our window and balcony was spellbinding! We simply sat and looked at it for hours. If Michelin rated hotels, La Casa de la Poeta would merit its top star rating - “worth the journey” (even from the UK). Room service meals now an option, with a tempting menu. Good restaurant with a terrace only a few steps away, but not open every evening. We had a good lunch there. Convivial bar in the street below, playing pleasant music after evening opening at 8pm. A special mention for George, at La Poeta, whose advice on our onward explorations in the Sierras greatly enhanced our experience of this under-appreciated part of Spain.

The very comfortable room and its taste, everything was excellent. The staff were perfect. Especially the view from the terrace. The only disappointment was that the weather was bad, but this is not the hotel's fault, I would like to spend more time there next time.

GermanyActually nothing really concerned with the hotel itself, but you need to be aware that you are on a hilltop at 1.100m height, sharing this hilltop wirh appr. 150 people only. The village has one restaurant and two bars I guess and it could though be difficult to be squeezed in w/o a reservation. However, the manager was so kind to solve that issue for me.
The hotel is a very well renovated/ newly integrated part integrated into the very old building part; creating harmony with the existing structure. However, the place is packed with all niceties when it comes to electric installations and has a very reliable internet connection. Staff was attendive and friendly, breakfast items were of superior quality and hand picked.

United KingdomVery few restaurants around, on Wednesdays they provide restaurant service at the hotel as all others are closed. The ground floor room has the bathroom in the bedroom, including the toilet, without a separating wall, which means lacks of privacy when using it. It also lacks a vent for areating, so you need to open the windows. For the price I was expecting a bit better.
Super nice hosts. Flexible check in. Lovely courtyard. Super relaxing atmosphere. Quiet.

United StatesCasa del Poeta was clean and nice and almost impossible to reach. We made a reservation two months ago and payed in full on the spot. About 10 days ago we changed plans and asked to come a day earlier. That added an additional price that we immediately paid for ( just because we changed the date). The price we paid was much higher that what we would have paid if we booked on the arrival date not in advance. At the time no one mentioned that the main road is being repaired, that there is no access to the hotel but to climb many steps and that we had to leave the car in another section of town. After settling in… with much effort… we were directed to two restaurants that open for dinner at 9:00PM. We patiently waited all this time and found that both were closed for the season. The hotel reception was unattended and no one could give us advice where to eat. So, we heard some noise and found a small cafe near by. It was probably opened all day… and we waited for a long time in the room to go to dinner. We were told that the kitchen was almost closed but they were kind to give us some appetizers. The hotel owner was there he introduced himself to us, nice person but no help. In the morning when we mentioned to the receptionist that both restaurants were closed he seemed to be surprised. Really?! And we were very unhappy with our short stay. It is a shame to have a nice place and not to correctly inform guests about area services nor to advise that major road repair would affect our one day stop.
The room was modern and clean.
