Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

We stayed at the appartement with one bedroom and the sofa couch on the second floor. We really liked the location. It is very close to a few supermarkets. It is also close to the Cathedral, Alcazar and Setas. The appartement itself was clean and the beds were comfortable. The couch was bigger than we expected, so that was nice as well! We never felt unsafe in the neighbourhood (coming from three girls). The bathroom was really nice and clean as well. The contact with the company went very smoothly, I suggest contacting them through e-mail or WhatsApp. They helped us very quickly when we had certain questions on airco, check-in procedure, etc. Greatly recommend staying here, we would come back to this place if we would ever visit Sevilla again :)

An apartment was not ready be the time we came. The announced appt for 5 (!) people came out to be 1-BR appt, with a very small living room and tiny sofa and Fulton in hallway. We were charged €200 for an extra person right away. When I got another hotel for my son and his girlfriend, the “owner” absolutely refused to pay back money he charged for an extra person. The kitchen was extremely small like a hallway, with steps to get in. We were very disappointed in the quality and size of announced appt, as well as poor service. That appt is maximum for 2 people. Vary bad experience.

United StatesWe loved everything about this apartment.
The apartment was full of light and was very clean. It was within walking distance of the cathedral, a grocery store, restaurants, and other attractions. When we did day trips to other cities, we were able to easily walk the mile and a half to the train station. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. The hosts were very attentive and made our stay wonderful.
