Apart from the shared facilities our stay was convenient and pleasant due to the excellent location

However the shared facilities gave us trouble and some uncomfortable time altogether since not only the bathroom is shared between at least 8 people but the only toilet of the flat is included in that bathing facility. So between 8.30 and 11 a.m. it was super difficult to find a moment when the bathroom would be free. You'd literally have to wait and listen and then quickly rush inside once it was free. That circumstance indeed cost some feeling of comfort. There should be a written house rule asking guests to use the bathroom in the morning as shortly as possible according to a fair use principle, for everyone needs to use the bathroom in the morning.

We were very positively surprised concerning location, check-in and the room. We had good sleeping over there. The location was excellent for our needs: close to Atocha station, nice bars and taperias nearby and one of the main museums right opposite!

It was dark during the day and we needed the light on. That was a bit annoying. I don’t like the one long pillow!

The location was great and I loved they had an air conditioner. It’s not the fanciest room but it is cheap and it was clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. Although I did wonder what happens if you were a larger person as the show screen doesn’t fully open. No doubt, it isn’t fancy and if you want a nicer hotel, you’ll need to stay elsewhere.

Fantastic location close to the metro and Atocha station and eateries. Property is within walking distance to all major tourist attractions such as Gran Via and Plaza Mayor. Fantastic price albeit basic. I would return if I’m ever visiting Madrid again.

The bathroom in the middle of the room did not have a window or ventilating duct which made it tricky when someone needed to do a #2! The perfect location also means it gets a little loud at night so you might want to consider sleeping with the window closed.

Our stay was very convenient and comfortable. It is not a luxury hotel but a very clean and comfortable hostel. So don't let the old-fashioned furniture turn you off! Owner very sweet, we were a group of 5 so he gave us the option of using an extra bathroom and shower outside of our room instead of sharing only one inside the room. He also agreed to bring us an extra bed (for an extra price of 10 eur) which we asked for only one hour before our check in.

The room was pretty small and basic and the shared bathroom was a bit far away. Reception staff did not speak English and was not particularly friendly.

The hostal is in very good location and it offers you a clean room of your own at a low price. The shared bathroom was also clean and the shower and the toilet worked. It is probably better value than a shared room in a hostel (unless you desire contact with other travellers).

Minor points are: in late afternoon or evening there is no one at the front desk - I decided to call the phone number and some one immediately answered me and managed to solve the problem I had. In the closet some more hooks could be provided for hanging clothes.

Great location - in front of the Rejina Sofia museum, 50 meters far from the Metro station, with lot of restaurants and bars just immediate to the front-door of the building! The bar-restaurant El Brillante is great for the breakfast and lunch/dinner (if you get a table!!) The staff is very kind, and with the keys of the door and building you feel free to come and go according to your needs! Also the quality of the cleaning service was very good: the room was arranged and cleaned each day!

The window is very small, hence it is very hard for the daylight to enter into the rooom (for me this wasn't a really concern, because I arrived late in the night and I left early in the moning).

The hostel is very close of the Madrid Atocha station, therefore is convenient for someone which wants to take a train early in the moning. One can reach the city center by foot. It is obviously not a luxury hotel, but it is clean and confortable. Some of the rooms have shared bathroom, but I managed to find one with private bathroom (perhaps, due to the fact that I booked it a few weeks in advance).

Foam mattress The coming and going of other guests late in the evening and early in the morning on the corridor made it difficult to sleep soundly This is minor, but a kettle in the kitchen would have been nice

Perfect central location next to Atocha station - convenient for connecting to airport and for exploring the city centre and attractions on foot Very clean, spotless hotel and room Clean modern bathroom Great power shower Private Room with air-con and sink to brush teeth

    Tiny room. Shared bathroom.

Outstanding location. If your interest is museums this is the perfect location; just across from the Reina Sofia. Cafes and bars right there too. Hard to find though; sign is tiny and we received wrong directions from locals.

I stayed for a quick overnight before my early train and it is perfect for that. Location is great, right across the Reina Sofía and restaurants right below. 10 minute walk to Atocha. AC worked perfectly on a hot day. My room was very clean and had a balcony and sink. Nothing fancy, but safe, clean, comfortable & walkable. I wish there were more outlets but it was manageable.

It's certainly not super fancy but a great deal for the price.

This hostal is directly across the plaza from the Museo Reina Sofia and just a few minutes from Atocha station. We stayed in a family room with one queen bed for the parents and two singles for the kids and there was even a curtain to separate the kid from parent areas. Really nice size room and with a balcony overlooking the plaza at the museum.

Clean, quiet and affordable hotel in the centre

Windows to the inside courtyard, therefore it was quiet, but the view is not fancy at all, so I recommend only in case you will use the room just for sleeping. I was by myself, but I booked on purpose room for 2, so that it is larger and has a bathroom, therefore I was satisfied.

Location - walking distance everywhere in the centre; clean every day, quiet. Reina Sofia on the other side of the street, Atocha behind the corner, Prado and Retiro few minutes. Apart from famous places, I recommend to stroll through the streets of Lavapies, and visit of Matadero (25 min walk to the river) - the cultural centre created from former slaughterhouses.
