Staff was the star. Antonio was like an old friend. Not speaking Spanish, no problem. He whipped up a Google translator and told us all the tips and information. He ensured that we both were comfortable and happy with everything.

The host, Domingo, was great and whilst he spoke little English (why should he!) his use of Google translate was brilliant and allowed us to have a great conversation whilst he explained what was what and pointed me to a lovely restaurant for the evening. I was made to feel very welcome.

The hostel is on the less busy and populated side of the rather steep hill that Santander sits on so you have to go up and over to get to where the action is but I understand that for my budget it really wasn't that far from the action. Perhaps it just felt extra steep and far because my legs were jelly from the cycling!

Antonio was a very kind and friendly host who had nothing but useful stuff to tell me about the local area. As a weary cyclist turning up late in the evening he could not have been more helpful, getting me settled and comfortable and pointing me in the direction of some local restaurants. The room was very clean and very well equipped, including ensuite. Overall exactly what I needed from my 2 days rest in Santander before my ferry home. - Antonio fue un placer conocerte y gracias por toda tu ayuda. ¡Te deseo todo lo mejor para tu próxima aventura ciclista!

The room was a bit basic and the walls were too thin and you could hear everything from the other rooms. The bathroom is practically in the room (the walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling). But given the price of the room, I think this is ok.

Jose Antonio was a wonderful host giving us lots of information on the local area and how to get around . He went above and beyond to help . He used his app translator to explain everything clearly . Such a lovely man ! Location was a 15 min walk into city and a 10 minute minute drive to the beaches and the mangledena .

Really good the owner Antonio couldn't do enough to help and there is a nice restaurant within walking distance. Good location for the ferry with parking outside. Antonio will explain everything to you using his Google translate which I have never used before being old but is more than easy so there is no difficulty with language if you don't speak Spanish

I loved staying here, it was a great experience. Antonio, the owner is so kind and looked after me and my son so well! The rooms are very comfortable and super clean. I had a lovely bathroom and dressing room attached to my room. I would recommend staying here as Antonio really cares about his guests and makes sure that everyone feels at home.

It does feel like a converted hostel without the little hotel comforts

The host was marvellous and made such an effort to ensure we were comfortable. It is always worrying when you arrive by bicycle, but the bikes were stored safely with no problems. He gave us great tourist information on buses and restaurants

The owner of the hostel couldn't have been more helpful. He spoke little English but Giogle translate was perfect and he gave us a map to show where everything was. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again with the children. Room was fabulous Parking a little tricky with a big car but the owner was brilliant with helping on this front and there was plenty on space on the road as well.

We have never come across such a wonderful host. Nothing is too much trouble. We had mistakenly booked the wrong room, but he had anticipated what we had done and already had another room arranged. Also saved the life of my phone by being able to produce a phone charger plug. Would recommend this hostal if you are looking for something different with a host for of local knowledge.
