Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom..no obvious wi-fi but was advertised.. ..as in many smaller establishments world wide, the tv barely worked including the remote where the batteries were flat - fortunately, as a Brit. I was only interested in a weather forecast!
..a traditional pension with superb tiled decor..clean..all towels etc. were good..the staff were exceptional, lovely people who helped a lot..

FinlandI had requested a twin or double bed, but when I arrived I was informed that my room wasn't ready yet and they showed me to another room. This room only had a singular, small bed. The staff didn't speak English, but we were able to communicate.
The breakfast was a traditional Spanish breakfast made of coffee, bread with either jam or olive oil and tomato, and orange juice. There were several options for coffee such as with milk or black coffee etc. The location was good, but the front door of the hotel was quite difficult to find at first because there wasn't any signs at the front. I was lucky to have my own bathroom, even though it cost a bit more.

United StatesThe location is great - not too far from typical attractions, but not crowded and noisy with tourists. It had everything I needed: safety, location, breakfast (simple, but real). Not fancy, but didn’t want fancy!

GermanyThe window was a bit small and claustrophobic, but overall okay!
The staff was friendly and the room and the common areas (e.g. bathrooms) were clean. Nice to have a private shower in the room. Simple yet nice included breakfast. Exceptional position to visit all Granada (all touristy districts are easy to reach by bus).

NorwayPaper-thin walls, we could hear a man from neighbor room coughing all night. It was so loud that I almost couldn't believe that walls can be THAT thin. Breakfast was poor, a piece of bred with jam, so don't expect much.
Old house, that misses substantial renovation, but it definitely has charme. It was more interesting for us to stay in a house like this, than in a new-built "sterile" hotel. Everything was very clean, linens, bathroom etc. Our room had a small balcony, so we had a nice view to the rooftops too. Air conditioner worked well, and we could adjust the temperature. All over for a 30€-room it exceeded my expectations.

Czech RepublicThe room was without window. There was a cigarette smell and humidity, it was very unpleasant. On the floor was only one WC, which was joined with shower in one room. The breakfest was poor. Every day the same: a cup of coffee, glas of orange juice and half of roll with butter and marmelade or tomato.
The accommodation is very good located. Wifi connection wery good. Staff was friendly, but they don't speak english. I could leave the lagguage there after check-out without problem.

ThailandThe room left a lot to be desired, and wasn't finished to even a moderately high standard, but you don't go to Granada to sit in a room. The window didn't open so the room got pretty humid. Breakfast was cheap and basic, with average coffee, carton organge juice and white bread with tomato.
Comfortable and very cheap room in a decent location very near the city centre. Everything was clean and working and din't have any major issues. The owners were friendly enough and breakfast was enough to get you going, I can't complain for the price.

Czech RepublicSecond night, there were indeed loud people on the street (bloody tourists, probably) that woke me up twice. Luckily they soon left and I could sleep again. We were given a bunk bed, it was not clear to me that they had these. We were actually in a building around the corner from the reception, which was fine. The bed was squeeking. But for the given price, I have no qualms.
The breakfast is not toast bread as some people say, but a proper if cheap bread that is toasted. Then you get crushed tomato and salt and olive oil in small containers (I wish these were on a table in glass, so much needless plastic waste). You can also choose to ge tjam but why would anybody do that? You can choose between cofee, tea and cacao and you get a glass of orange juice (cheap, but no added sugar). Given it was for free, I was really happy. People running it only speak Spanish, but even my rudimentary Spanish was enough and they are quite nice. We were able to get to the room already at 1330. Showers were nicely warm, maybe even too much.
