How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The ants on the floor. But every day room was cleaned.
It was not a room! We had pur own appartement. With sunny terrace, great spa 20 meters walk and best cocktail bar and restaurant

This is amazing hotel. A very nice breakfast. Comfortable stay. Very nice and friendly staff. Would love to come back then in Javea. Would love to try SPA next time.

The parking situation was difficult due to many people parking over lines so that others could not fit.
Our room was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent.

Not so much about liking, but it is around 10km from the beachfront and night time activities if that is what you are looking for.
Country club feeling in a relaxed, quiet, private community. Renovated and well maintained property with excellent staff. Good attention to detail, cleaning and gardening. Pleasant breakfast. A great place to chill with a good book for a few days.

Breakfast was great. Except when the hotel is full, the waiting for a table feel like a all inclusive hotel. that we did not expect. We missed a coffee machine in the room. That the pool is not in front off the rooms.

We did have to upgrade to a suite, only because I have mobility issues and our original garden view room had too many stairs for me to access.

Very poor restaurant for hotel of this quality. Menu on the one day we ate there was 4 fish dishes, one pork and one other meat, think it was lamb. Ordered the monkfish but was served the red mullet. Fish very dry, no sauces to speak of. For the price level, would have expected a beef and a poultry choice also. Desert was fair at best. Male waiter was fine but the lady did not seem to be happy in her job (that's being polite) Hotel is out of town centre so need car/taxis to get around.Ate lunch out and snacked in room in evening; would have used restaurant more if it had been better.
Were given room upgrade to small suite. Excellent. All personnel were friendly and helpful, very good. Breakfast buffett a little limited to generally quiet OK. Quiet, peaceful surroundings, very nice.

The rooms were lovely and clean with great beauty products (Shampoo, Conditioner and shower gel). breakfasts were lovely especially the omelettes freshly made. Tried the spa as well which was fab!

The mattress in our room was incredibly hard. The parking was haphazard at all times of the day. And it would have been nice to have fresh eggs at breakfast.
The breakfast was always delicious and the room it was served in was lovely. I especially enjoyed the cortados and the fresh fruit and melon. My husband was all about the smoked salmon and jamon!
