Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe faced the park and road and it was quite noisy, but quietened down at night. Our room was quite basic, but had everything we needed.
We enjoyed our stay at this family run business, The breakfast and dinners were good. The owner didn't speak much English and we don't speak much Spanish, but he showed me the bus timetable and one day we took a local bus down into Granada, which was very easy and cheap (<4 euros, you need to pay cash) and took 30 minutes. We got a taxi back from Alhambra for <20 euros. The owner also showed me parking on the map so another day we parked in the Congress Palais (near to where the bus had gone) for 6 euros for the day. It's only a small village but there were a few good local restaurants. It was much cooler than down in Granada.

United KingdomThe rooms were a little dated. There was no fridge in the room.
Particularly loved the location in a beautiful village with some great bars and restaurants nearby, There was parking at the hotel and had no problem finding a space. The hotel was amazing value for money with a nice breakfast included. I particularly like the fact that there was somebody to prepare you fresh tea or coffee. The breakfast had a reasonable choice of options. The room was comfortable and had a good shower. The small pool was a great bonus and lovely and clean with good sunbeds.

SpainGreat breakfast options available. Breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, cereals...excellent! Miguel and Inma, the owners, were so friendly and helpful. The hotel is a lovely traditional, rustic building, very well maintained, with a good restaurant. There is a swimming pool as well as children's play area. The hotel is very well located for hikers and explorers who want a break from the hustle and bustle of nearby Granada. Lovely hotel, lovely setting, lovely hosts!

United KingdomWould have liked a bath rather than just a shower but a very minor consideration. While we were there, there were very noisy roadworks just opposite the hotel. Miguel was happy to change our designated room to a quiter one with no problem.
Fabulous family run hotel. Really friendly and helpful. Only 15 minutes drive from Granada and so much better than being in the city. Great drive up to the Sierra Nevada from here and a super restaurant at 1400 metres up, The Ruta del Purche, with amazing views. Excellent continental breakfast and a good menu at the hotel's barbecue based restaurant on the terrace.

AustriaBreakfast hours. As busy as the ski resort gets during the ski season and limited parking, it would be beneficial for the skier if they provide breakast at 0730.
The Hotel is in the small town of Monachil, 20 minutes from downtown Granada and Alhambra. Also 30 minutes from the Ski resort Sierra Nevada. Very friendly staff, who will assist you. Great breakfast (0800-1000). The breafast lounge is also a restaurant at night (2000-2300 - check with owner if they are open). The food in the restaurant is outstanding, and fair priced. Parking on site with no additional cost. They clean the room daily and provide new towels even if not needed.

GermanyWe heard an animal in the roof moving every night. It was a bit scary, but understandable as Monachil is under the mountains. Owners should just check as some of the more scared guests can complain.
Nature around, position, breakfast - everything really good.

EstoniaThe rooms are quite small and modest. The water pressure was very low.
The hotel is on the main street of Monachil village, which is a very nice and clean village right next to different trekking trails in Sierra Nevada, so if you're looking to go hiking, I recommend staying there. The hotel has parking right in front of the hotel, a small pool and a restaurant with breakfast and dinner. Staff is helpful and polite and will help you out with everything.

AustraliaMiguel and the team made us very welcome. Our room on the second floor was spacious and clean. Breakfast included a range of pastries, bread, sliced meats and cheese, eggs, nuts and more. The restaurant was opened especially for guests while we were there, and the meals were delicious and excellent value. The hotel is located very close to the beginning of walking tracks, including the Los Cahorros trail/circuit. We made use of the pool and terrace after our hike. Monachil offers easy access by car to the Alhambra in Granada, and we noted a bus operated to and from Granada also. A wonderful stay.
