How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was very cozy, and we had a nice view from the balcony. Also, it was easy to find a free of charge parking spot nearby. The best thing was that when we told to the manager (or the owner, probably) that we need to check out at 5 am due to the early flight, he prepared us a breakfast for the morning (sandwiches, yogurts and fruit) which was a nice surprise as we thought we’re going to miss the breakfast despite it’s included in the price. We’re very happy with this experience, it was definitely the right choice!

No English TV channels Weirdly the hotel was closed for guests from 11-2pm no evening dinner - nearest Restaurant was a tram ride away (10 mins)

That we had to leave
The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was delicious and abundant and staff and owners are incredibly nice. Also the location is very convenient if you rent a car and need somewhere to park it or also if you want to use public transport. We really loved every aspect of our stay there.

It raised my wifes expectations of the next hotel.

Very friendly owner who looked after us very well, showed us everything and made us a lovely breakfast. Had the best coffee in our Tenerife stay here.

Nothing, it was all very good.
Everything! the breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, all prepared in the moment, very comfortable, huge room, the owners were very helpful and kind. The tram stops right in front, the Science museum is just behind and San Cristobal de la Laguna is few minutes away. I highly recommend it.

This is a delightful small B&B (eight named rooms). The rooms are well decorated and comfortable with good sized bathroom. The owners are very helpful and attentive. The breakfast is extensive and they soon tailor it to your selections. There are shops nearby to purchase snacks and water, which you will need as rooms as not air-conditioned and without a fan.

Window of my room (on the first floor, overlooking the patio), opened to a corridor. So those using the corridor could easily access the room if the window was open, or see the inside of the room if the light blocking courtains were not pulled. I was brought up to the room through stairs, without being offered to use a lift, and it seemed there was none. I looked for a lift though, which I very much prefer, to find it only during my second day in an non obvious location. It should be very easy to address the issue by just asking customers whether they prefer stairs or lift, or by indicating where it is.
Nice building, kind staff, confortable, clean and quiet room. Varied breakfast from 8 am onwards, prepared individually. They had done the necessary to offer me for breakfast products suitable for my gluten and lactose intolerance, which I had announced in advance.

Apart from very comfortable and perfectly clean rooms a big compliment goes to the staff team. We felt more than welcome, we were in contact with the owner before our arrival and he made sure we have everything we need. We felt very well take care of and we noticed everybody on the staff team really cares about our well being. A big thank you from both of us!

Very welcoming host, clean and comfortable accommodation. Bed was comfortable, as were the pillows . Think the mattress had a plastic cover on which made it very hot! We missed breakfast due to a 7am start. It's a shame that in these situations, a couple of pieces of fruit can't be given instead.
