How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room had a kettle, but not an extension cord so we needed to unplug a lamp and place the kettle on the floor to use it - it worked but was a bit too much hassle...
Excellent breakfast (a good number of vegetarian / vegan options, also gluten free options available)! Lovely Marimekko-themed interior :)

The WiFi was not working properly. Everything else was good.
Hotel Emilia is in the heart of Hameelinna city, located right in the city center, 5 minutes away from the shopping mall and 15 minutes away from the train station. The breakfast was great and the staff friendly.

Very small bathroom, it was all wet if you took a shower, not enough sockets. Hostel like design. OK room but too pricey.
Very clean room, comfortable bed, fabulous breakfast.

When taking a shower the water went everywhere in the bathroom (completely soaking wet). The room was nice, but you could hear a lot of noise from the street below.
The room was modern and nice.

We were very happy with the hotel. At the club (which was K-26 and most of the people around 30–60 years old or so) it was nice to hear some older music from the 1980s and 90s, but the DJ could have played just a bit wider range of music, such as disco, Northern soul, funk and a fresher collection of Finnish music. That would have made us stay a bit longer at the dance floor and the place!
Hotel Emilia is easy to find and welcoming! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We asked and got a quiet room to sleep in, and that was very nice. The room was neat and classic, quite modern style. There's a club in the same building (just next door), and the entrance fee is discounted for the hotel guests. The hotel guests get also discount from Piparkakkutalo-restaurant's ala carte. There are also other nice restaurants -Thai, Vietnamese and Nepalese- very close by. The breakfast is superb(!) – with lots of vegan alternatives, such as porridge with jam or Finnish berries, soy youghurts, fruits, bread and sweet things... Just to name a few examples. Can genuinely recommend!

I dont have any criticism
Hotel has been renovated and is much better than last time I was here in 2017. Central location in Hml., good breakfast, and room clean with all basic facilities needed. Price under 100 € which is rare these days in this country.

We could hear the night club to our room but it was quiet enough that it didn't disturb too much.
Simple and tidy rooms, convenient location. Great breakfast.

There was no receptacle to put used teabags (I'm a tea drinker) and also, it was just a little too cool in the breakfast area.
Yes, I really enjoyed the breakfast. There was a great buffet available, with a great selection of foods.

The staffs were really nice and helpful. The bed was comfy. This is a good option if travelling to/from the train station. The location was also excellent regarding being in the centrum.

Bed could have been more comfortable. The sound proofing between rooms isn't perfect so if you have a noisy neighbour you might have issues at night. Breakfast room was cramped during rush hour, and at breakfast some staff didn't wear masks.
Great location, clean, good value for money, friendly staff. Rooms are air conditioned well.

The curtains were too narrow so the room wasnt dark enough at night time. Showercurtain was dirty and there was dust and rubbish under the bed.
Room had very nice cool temperature, staff was very friendly and breakfast was ok.
