Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOver priced for the facilities you get. My bure was close proximity to the road and all I could hear all night was road noise, quite fright I g at times ad it felt like a truck was heading into you. No sleep all week , Wi-Fi seems to be a protected service , passwords changed every day and never worked in the room. Food over priced for the choice and quality. Service extremely slow. Location was disappointing, extremely windy and coral reef stopping the sea also the beach covered in massive boulders. Staff seemed to be enjoying there days and nights as if they were on holiday themselves.
Room size was about all that I like here

United StatesCouldn’t stay longer.
Super location, amazing local staff, and nothing but welcome vibe. This resort is located next to a marine reserve and has the most amazing snorkeling- must be accompanied by a local guide. Food cooked when ordered and special requests were accepted. Supporting this resort, supports local families!

AustraliaThe manager/admin and their lack of presence and the above. (Not front desk/reception - they were great) The lack of authentic fijian food and cultural experience. We had to venture out for that, even if it was for a fresh coconut. The resort has so much more potential to really highlight what Fiji has to offer.
The location, facilities, room (although a little dark), front of house/room service/food/maintenance/driver staff were all so incredibly welcoming and lovely. Went above and beyond to help us.

AustraliaNO ACCOUNTABILITY- They charged us twice for our stay and we are still fighting to get our money back. Poor service all round. 90 minute wait for meals; all meals like warm to cold; having to go look for staff to get a drink or to order a meal. Limited to no internet although it was advertised as included

United StatesNothing. We look forward to returning.
The staff were Incredibly friendly and kind. The grounds were manicured and lovely. The food was very good. The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Everything was so perfect that they must have completed a thorough renovation. Tambua Sands was a perfect place to relax and learn about the wonderful Fijian culture. It is also nicely located on the Coral Coast and so great as a base for further exploration. This resort was wonderful.

AustraliaOn-site restaurant is very nice. Due to staffing you can wait a little longer for food when busy. I would suggest for staff are needed when guest number increase as have 1 person to take orders, make drinks and serve food isn’t enough.
This is the resort to come if your visiting Fiji. It is situated in a sweet spot between activities and not too far from the airport. I staying in a beautiful ocean view bungalow. Bathrooms have been renovated and mattresses have been replaced I know as I saw them doing it to all rooms while I stayed here. They are the comfy ones too! I will suggest getting a local SIM at the airport as wifi in resort is being upgraded so only available on foyer at the moment. If mobility is a challenge request a room closer to the reception as I was located in furthest room as it’s a big of a hike across grass and sand. If your after a quite and relaxed place to stay with very friendly staff. This is the place to come. Bula Bula

AustraliaTheir lack of response to 4 emails I sent after we had checked out. We were there for 4 nights, and had booked a full day/night tour through their tour desk for our last day. On the morning we were to go, I woke with stomach cramping and diarrhea, but not from eating at the resort. We had eaten out for both lunch and dinner the previous day. As we had to cancel, I requested a simple letter stating that, so I could claim the deposit on my travel insurance. They still won't reply a month later, even though the receptionist said she would email me a letter. We booked our transfers with their 'taxi's', a comfortable car driven by the driver from the local village. We presumed they would put the cost of $150 Fijian onto our account, but when we arrived the driver asked for cash. We had exchanged some money and paid him. Again, lack of communication, even though I had asked them about this prior to leaving home, but I never got a reply. You need Fijian cash for the taxi if you want to go anywhere, including paying to be taken to an ATM. That said, they aren't rich people, and we could afford an overseas holiday, so didn't mind paying. The continental breakfast is served to you and was adequate. A hot breakfast is available for an extra cost. Meals at the resort are only ok/good. We found some guests went to eat out at local restaurants. We did this twice, again paying for the taxi. The driver was more than happy to stop at the local supermarket on our way to the resort, where we purchased water. $13 Fijian for a box of 12 x 1.5litre bottles. A bargain! So take plenty of local currency. If you do book tours, you'll need to give them 20% commission in cash, with the remainder of the tour paid to the tour company. Our tour balance could have been put on our card, but we never got to go on it.
Resort is improving it's facilities in leaps and bounds. The well kept grounds are lovely. This is a very quiet resort, catering to adults. It's a place to just relax, swim or snorkel. 2 kayaks are there and are free. All rooms are renovated or in the process of being so. Clean freshwater pool with comfy new banana lounges and cushions. Colourful dining area. New activities guy Tooi was great, and has plans for activities. Good snorkeling in the Marine Park nearby. You need to do the $59 Fijian village tour which includes access to the Marine Park. Money goes to the village and must be prebooked. New icecream chest selling Cadbury and NZ icecreams. If you want a busy resort with lots happening all the time, look elsewhere, but if you just want to relax, this may be the place for you.

New ZealandThe website should precisely state NO outside food, the night shift chef- Abdul was extremely rude, the bathroom towels were very old and dirty, the bathroom towel railing was falling off every second if accidently contacted, no basic amenities in the room ( sink, cutleries, microwave, etc)
The staff around the property were very nice and friendly unlike the night chef- Abdul!

GermanyBreakfast and food in general was a nightmare. I mean this place calls itself a resort and than you get burned toast and cereals for breakfast. Every backpacker hostel in South America we stayed offered a better service. I thought it was embarrassing. It just doesn't feel right if you feel like the hotel is all about making money not trying to make you feel comfortable. Prices for food and drinks too high. Dinner dissapointing.
The place is beautiful. Rooms are nice, clean and perfect to relax. The snorkeling right outside your door is just amazing.

CanadaThe restaurant was in line with other reviews, overpriced and mediocre at best. We went into town for dinner, which worked out really well.
The beach is a coral beach so barefoot walking was doable, but sandals preferred. The beach was so spectacular that it made no difference. It was endless in both directions, with fascinating lava flow formations. The location was excellent with easy access to the entire coral coast.

New ZealandWe had a change of plans due to a family member becoming extremely ill and we had to fly home urgently. We enquired as to have a refund for the 3 nights we weren't able to stay. The Manager rudely told us it is not company policy to refund money due to the fact that our room was booked out for 3 further nights. The resort was only 20% full so it wasn't as though they were turning down bookings. Very Very bad practise. The food was below average and extremely over priced.
The fijian staff couldn't have been more helpful. The Manager however was rude and was not empathetic to our circumstances at all.

AustraliaWe stayed for 2 weeks and the lunch and dinner menus were the same for that time. A change of menu would have been a welcome change, but the chef did have a special on daily, so that helped. Drinks are very expensive especially the wine.
The beach was great for snorkeling and kayaking, the equipment provided by the resort. We saw quite a few very colourful fish and starfish only metres from the shore. Lovely swimming pool as well to cool off in. Meals were fine and chef was happy to cook from the breakfast menu, if you were only feeling like a small meal. Continental breakfast was included, we prefered cornflakes/weetbix instead of toast and that was fine too. We can't praise the staff highly enough, they were fantastic. We are seriously thinking of going back to Tambua again next year.
