How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The directions to collect the keys were terrible! I spent much time effort and petrol trying to locate where the keys were. The language barrier did not help. After a long day travelling, this was not welcome and spoilt the start of my holiday.

Apartment managed by Flaine Immobilier who direct you to their website when you book, easy to log in and lots of info there. Staff super friendly and helpful when you arrive. Definitely a budget apartment but the price reflected that so if you've got low expectation you'd be fine; well enough equipped for self catering. Would be cramped with more than two people. Location nice with good views, quiet, 200m walk from slopes so you can carry your gear or rent a heated ski locker at foot of slopes. Wifi is extra but works very well. The resort is car free and car parking costs money wherever you park. The apartment has the option of covered parking for little more than it would cost in an outdoor car park.

2 rings of the hob did not work. Shower head was not secure.

I found the charge for cleaning to much considering the condition I left the apartment

Gloomy bathroom. No control over extractor fans. Apartment in general in need of refurbishment. Ski room very basic, couldn't locate a boot locker for this apartment, but as no boot heaters preferred to keep boots in apartment anyway. no information regarding ski room or garbage disposal location provide at check in.
Convenient location. Kitchen well equipped. Adequate storage space for two. Bath as well as shower. heating adequate.

One of the apartments we booked was advertised as a 4 bed apartment, but was a double bed and a sofa bed. The other of the apartments had very old kitchen facilities and faulty wall outlets, bunk beds were very cramped and uncomfortable. Both apartments were very much on the cramped side.
Cheap, situated close enough to a lift behind the building. Plenty warm.

The accommodation boasted 4 birth apartments, I was a solo traveller & the 4 birth apartment I had would barely be big enough for 2. One small shower room, one WC & very little storage space. The couch was covered in stains, the so called beds were basic bunks & a couch (stained) I live in France & therefore drive to the French Alps, parking cost me & extra 140.00€ due to the fact that I parked next to the apartment block, something I learnt Iater that I should not have done but no one told me other wise. Eating & drinking out costs an absolute fortune in Flaine, seems it's going the way of the more expensive resorts. All in all I am done with Flaine.
I am a keen skier & have been to Flaine a few times & the skiing never disappoints. Unfortunately everything else does.

The apartment was very old and not cleaned properly. Some dishes weren't washed properly. The oven was so disgusting that we didn't use it. One duvet was stained and the kids mattress covers covered in stains and dust. Strong smell of wee in the bathroom/toilet. Poor sound insulation and noisy neighbors. We were woken two nights by people partying, once at 4am and the other at 2am. We mentioned it at the rental agency. They didn't seemed surprised, not even apologized or had a friendly words. They just told us to call the police. We rent towels + bed sheets and one of the duvet cover had a big hole in it.
The location was great, not far away from the ski area and from the ESF were the ski learnt to ski with very friendly teachers. Walking distance from restaurants and shops. A small kit with sponges + cleaning products was provided.

General smell on apartment level was not pleasant (sewage) and in apartment toilet and bathroom due to drainage/sewage smells escaping into the apartment. Did not like the fact the ski locker light was not automatic on entry.
Amenities nearby, i.e ski hire/supermarket/vernicular to lower levels. Short walk to slopes.
