Rooms seemed run down. Upon our arrival a men's swim trunks and shirt were found on the floor behind the curtain.

Breakfast was well layed out with good selection. Eating area was clean and well managed.

The bathrooms could have been better and the breakfast is only mediocre - the coffee not to be recommended at all. So at our second stay, we simply skipped the breakfast and went straight for lunch :-)

The restaurant of the Hotel is excellent and the staff very friendly - they served us even at our late arrival with no complaint with excellent food! They are very accommodating also to our dogs :-)

Shabby suite. Not up to expectations. Staff were brilliant. Spa was superb. Good and service beyond compare. What let it all fall apart for us was the decoration or lack of it in the suite. We know it’s and old building. We too live in one on the Dordogne it’s just a shame that the suite was so dated and poorly dressed. Must emphasis the staff all were fabulous and helpful

The lift was out of order for all of our stay. As we were on the second floor it meant a climb 9f 57 stairs 3very time, quit exhausting.

Breakfast good on the first morning but less choice on the second- fewer guests shouldn't mean fewer options. Apart from that the food was lovely, we ate in the restaurant twice - a lovely room with spectacular chandeliers. Loved the spa.

The Restaurant books out due to one restaurant being closed. In peak season this means driving to perigeaux and we were unable to find a restaurant there the first night except a table next to really loud music. We asked the hotel to make a booking at a recommended restaurant the night after and the lady who made the booking left a note. When we got back we were told there were no tables available anywhere, we checked the fork and everything was booked and ordered bad take away instead. Upon checkout we found out a booking had been made and the concierge handover didn't look to read it. A very disappointing experience given our honeymoon and our desire to enjoy a nice meal. If you go book your own restaurants prior if it is a weekend as the hotel makes little attempt to ensure you can eat somewhere. A disabled man arrived as I was waiting for my bad takeaway to be told also about the dinner situation and an inability to even enjoy a drink in the evening. Also internet didn't work on the wifi, pool was crowded and couldn't get a chair due to an additional 20 rooms outside the main château. There is also no air con so it does get very hot at night. Worth 1 night if you want to stay in a château.

Great location and really nice room

Some small surprises, also related to the age of the building: no fixed shower, lack of mains outlets round the bed. But also: the automatic entrance door invited everyone to walk up and in but it didn’t always work and everyone we saw had to try and then find another door - not a good first impression. The keys only work one way round in the room lock so 50% of people will feel stupid or frustrated trying to enter their own room. And finally on 2nd floor the fire door was wedged open… Oh another finally our loo did not flush even tissue correctly, leading to multiple assisted attempts to get things ‘away’. (Lascoux).

The old buildings, the woodwork. The restaurant food was really excellent.

Booked an evening meal in the main restaurant for birthday, arrived to be told that due to staff shortage only the bistro was open. Refused to serve drinks one night at 22.15, following night serving at 23.00. WiFi stopped working halfway through the week.

The building and the room were good.

The welcome from the staff on reception was average, but the staff in the restaurant were horrific. The food was poor. The Fillet steak was burnt and clearly we got what was left.., Oh and no stand up shower.

This is a stunning Chateau and certainly has the wow factor on the approach. Set back off a busy road it all starts to show that it’s all glitz with no substance.

Sadly the lift was being repaired and with two floors of steep stairs it was hard work! The only downside.

Room upgraded. Dinner in restaurant was totally brilliant. Great chef but he’ll be poached as he’s that good. Great value too.

The staff were exceptional. We were a last minute booking and arrived late in the day. The front desk staff made our stay very agreeable. An initial misunderstanding in the booking was dealt with very satisfactorily by the front desk. Further we were able to eat in our room from the excellent restaurant and make good use of the charming rooms and pool during our brief visit.
