Rooms overlooking the street in front can be noisy in weekend nights

Perfect location at walking distance of the centre. Traffic and parking can be very difficult in Lille so the option to park (and use elctric charging point) at the hotel is very convenient. Charming hotel and very friendly staff.

Breakfast was very good but at Euros 30 per head rather expensive

It is an old hotel (in a nice way), lots of character. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, but equally the old windows (which look beautiful) did not open. Years of paint I suspect.

Bar being closed on a Sunday which we had hoped to have pre dinner drinks in. However the staff very kindly accommodated us in the restaurant bar despite no official bar man.

Location and rooms were spacious and immaculate. Friendly and accommodating staff also.

We stayed in room 2 which is the first room at top of stairs and over reception, unfortunately other guests returned late standing outside our room shouting both nights we were there waking our children.

No aircon and the room fan provided didn't really help. Couldn't open the windows more than a few centimetres without raising the blinds all the way up, which either meant letting light and bugs in or keeping them shut and being too hot. Electronic safe broke on our last night and there was no manager on site with an override key - it was sorted in the morning before we had to leave but it was a stressful night not being able to access our passports, cash, etc, which forced us to change our plans and we were left wondering if we were going to be able to make our train back to the UK.

Amazing staff who couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. Fantastic location, easy to walk into the old town of Lille and very quiet, even though only a few hundred metres from busy bars and restaurants. Very generously sized room with extremely comfy bed and pillows. Large walk-in shower.

Everything - Clarance Hotel is a golden gem in the heart of Lille. Perfect for a romantic getaway. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always with a smile. The breakfast is out of this world. Delicious!

Quite expensive for a one night stay. Bathroom in one twin room was “open plan” which was a little tricky for teenage boy/girl siblings.

We were woken too early from a handyman above. He was noisy and painting the hallway above too early. The hotel compensated for this although I would have liked a lie-in!

Breakfast fantastic and the coffee. They even made gf bread for me. Room service excellent, although limited room service menu again they had gf bread and made a special croque monsieur. Breakfast room is stunning and parking so easy.

No air conditioning. Room was hot. Church tower bell literally At the room window. Really annoying, specially if it is hot and can’t close the window!

The room was painted an unpleasant pink and looked over the street. I’d stay again but in a different coloured room with a view to the courtyard or garden. There was a lengthy debate about charging my wife for a full breakfast when all she had was a coffee.

Great staff who were very helpful above and beyond the usual requirements. Beautiful breakfast room and good food. Comfortable bed room with a sleek bathroom.

The room was a good size, bright, attractive, comfortable. Great location on the edge of Old Lille, interesting shops and lots of good restaurants close by.

Public restrooms are not as you would expect in a five-star hotel. The food is very good, but the service at the table is also not as you would expect in a star restaurant. Not according to the rules of the art. The room was in perfect condition. The public areas (like the hallway) could use a refresh.

We were put in room 4, which is at the top of the main stairs on the landing with two chairs out the front. Two drunk women decided to come in at 3am and sit outside our room, talking at full volume for over 30 minutes. Also, people using the stairs to come up from dinner or go down to breakfast often woke us up. The hotel and staff are amazing. Just ensure that you are not placed in the same room unless you are a heavy sleeper.

Location is amazing, central enough to have close access to the old city. Just around the corner is the main restaurant street with a vast amount of lovely places to dine.
