Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNo elevators, no staff to speak of except helpful restaurant manager. Seldom anyone at front desk.
Proximity to Mont St Michel can’t be beat. La Digue itself is an annex to Relais St Michel across the street, which is where check-in and meals take place. Staff was scarce, brusque and obviously overworked on our visit in September, so don’t expect to find someone around. The lone exception is restaurant manager Billy, who is personable, extremely helpful and speaks English. He even managed to dig up some bread and cheese for the four of us who arrived hungry after lunch service with no restaurants open. Breakfast was great and view from restaurant spectacular. Free shuttles take you to the Mont, but watch out for drivers, who appeared willing to mow down anyone standing in the wrong spot.

Canadathe lack of a/c during the warmer days
we really appreciated how close it was to Mont saint-Michel itself in terms of walking distance and to the shuttle stop. the breakfast was a great add-on with a gorgeous view of the Mont every morning. the room was great in terms of comfort and facilities minus the fact that there wasn’t any a/c (to keep in mind for warmer months)

AustraliaNo lift to your floor so if you have lots of luggage beware! Shower water pressure not great.
Perfect location for walking or catching the shuttle to the island. Restaurant for breakfast has a lovely view - breakfast is pastries, toast, fresh baguettes and cold meats. Rooms are small but adequate. Free parking is across the road. Good wifi.

United KingdomI payed for a double room, ended up paying 50 euros more per day for a bigger room. The first one was too small and facing the street. the second room was bigger and supose to be the mount St Michel view but you are really facing the Digue and the bridge, you can slightly see the Mount St Michel on the side very far away. To do checking we had to go to the hotel in front and also breakfast was in the other hotel, very poor and basic breakfast.

United KingdomSeemed to be semi-shutdown for the winter when we stayed in early October, with check-in and -out being handled by Le Relais hotel across the street. Whilst a bit confusing when we arrived, this wasn't much of a problem. And it meant the breakfast was in the restaurant of Le Relais, with a great view across to Mont Saint-Michel. Limited food options nearby...unless you stay on in Mont Saint-Michel for food or head back out there for dinner. There's a restaurant at Le Relais hotel across the street and a couple more at hotels a couple of hundred metres down the road to the south, but no budget options. Looks like there's a smaller & cheaper restaurant attached to the hotel, but this was shutdown (for winter?) when we stayed.
Great location; about as close as it's possible to stay to Mont Saint-Michel unless you're on the Mont itself. Right next to a stop for the free bus that runs to the Mont every 15 minutes or so throughout the day, or around 15-20 minutes to walk across the causeway (recently constructed with well-maintained boardwalk style walkway).

MaltaI didn't know that it was like an annex to another hotel, so breakfast was across the road. The room was fine but the mirror lights in the bathroom and the telephone to the reception weren't functioning. I asked if it was possible to get a room with a view but the word 'possible' didn't mean that I would get it !! Infact, I didn't.
It was very close to the walkway to the Mont. The shuttle bus just outside the hotel was convenient too.

AustraliaIt's weird that the hotel reception and restaurant is closed. That seems sad and I would have loved to have had it open. It seems there is a few closed places in La Caserne. I am assuming it's from covid? Bathroom is small but usable.
Our room was 11, looking at the Mont. Loved that view and could see the Dam as well. Bed was comfy. Breakfast at hotel across the way was good. Room was warm and a little small bit cosy.
