Beautiful building in quiet vineyard. Very relaxing. Lovely room and fabulous restaurant. Excellent service by friendly and helpful staff.

One slight problem. On arrival we were not told that the breakfast closes at 9.00. No information in room concerning times either. Unfortunately, we arrived at 9.15 and were told no breakfast although, all that was offered was still on display. The member of staff was not accommodating and with a sigh she showed us the coffee machine. Then quickly removed all the food. It was a total shame because up to that point the hotel was excellent. However, when were checking out the receptionist apologised and offered to have breakfast sent to our room. Unfortunately, we were packed and checking out so we declined. This refusal of breakfast would not stop us again staying at this excellent hotel.

The hotel and the grounds were excellent and well kept. Restaurant very comfortable and waiter service excellent.

We loved everything about it!

Our room was fabulous (No 5) huge and airy, fantastic bathroom & very comfortable beds. Lovely atmosphere, very welcoming, especially Susie the concierge cat! Marie Cecile the owner organised a private visit to Chateau La Tour Martillac for us and gave us loads more suggestions re chateaux to visit. We had a lovely meal in Domaine de Larchey the first night & the Samuel the restaurant very kindly made reservations for us at La Table de la Lavoir at Chateau Haut Lafite the following night which we would never have secured ourselves.

We stayed in the middle of summer - but the pool was covered for the whole time we stayed, which was off putting, so we didn't use it.

The gardens and the staff were lovely. The room was spacious, modern and clean. The garden had a lovely ambience.

The Chateau was well situated and convenient to numerous wineries. The rooms was spacious, well decorated with a large bath and nice views of the property. The pool area was a nice place to relax.

We stayed in the main Chateau the last time we stayed in the annex property which was good but not the same as the main property which is really nice, the bath room is all new and bright.

Gorgeous, quiet location amongst the vineyards. Good breakfast. The garden was lovely! The restaurant was closed as it was the weekend, but we were recommended another in a village close by, which was booked for us and was delightful. Thank you.

No bar or anywhere to get a drink/coffee other than the restaurant. However once we realised we had a small fridge/kitchen in room that was not an issue

Beautiful gardens, lovely pool, great staff. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Rooms were comfortable and equipped with a fridge and small kitchen (which we weren’t aware of when we booked and was a bonus)

Both my partner and I required a coeliac/glutenfree menu for our stay: two breakfasts and a birthday evening meal. We didn't need a completely different menu, but for staff and chef to be aware and to have anything to hand that they may need to adapt an existing dish or two, maybe an alternative. We confirmed this with the hotel several times before our stay and it was acknowledged. But on our arrival no changes had been made. We were just told what we could not eat. This meant that the birthday meal menu was seriously reduced and there was no dessert offer at all (think of a good French restaurant kitchen that can't even rustle up a crème brule, crème caramel, fruit and cream, sundae... with ten days notice. Nothing. very disappointing. The desk apologised on checking out (no offer or explanation was made), and we have politely contacted the hotel separately since but this has gone unacknowledged. A real let down for what was otherwise a lovely stay.

Great location, clean, comfortable and quiet. Good pool and courtyard restaurant. Good food (although our dietary requests confirmed and agreed ten days before were ignored which caused problems - and our subsequent email to the hotel has gone unanswered).

Disappointed to discover the chef doesn’t work Sundays as we were very much looking forward to an evening meal; the salad and charcuterie board were still lovely.

Concerned at possible airport delays we booked first night reasonably close to Bordeaux airport, it’s only 30 or so minutes away and what a lucky find! The location and property is very attractive, quiet, tucked away yet with gardens, a good pool and relaxing sun area, excellent restaurant and quiet, spacious rooms. Service was superb, they looked after us despite not expecting us for dinner (there were no airport delays…!) and instead of being a one night, quick stop we wished we could stay longer (we stayed as long as we could, through to the next afternoon). Recommended.
