Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were in a separate building from the main hotel. Outside dining was a bit cold on the night we were there (October). It is a bit of a climb up from the main town and Roman bridge …as you would expect from a medieval city. We were fine but just mentioning it for anyone who is very elderly or infirm.
Good view from our room although we had to pay more for it. Lovely dinner in the restaurant. Very good breakfast

United StatesThe outdated bathroom - the “shower” was awkward, the bed was not so comfortable.
Historic and picturesque! Location was outstanding. We enjoyed two early evening times reading and taking in the lovely garden!

BelgiumThe room did have some airco, but not sufficient to get the room cooled down (it was a mobile device with limited capacity) and the shower head was not holding to the rod, so you had to hold it yourself. An easy fix I guess. The bathroom had a bit of a sewage smell, but not to overwhelming.
A very nice welcome from the host and we were guided to a room in the next building. Behind the building there was the pool area. We did not have the time to enjoy the swimming pool, but it had a wonderful view over Vaison and it was cosy to spend some time there. The room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and it was located in the garden with views over the town. the location is wonderful in the middle of the old town with some option for diner on walking distance. I read some comments on the difficult parking situation, so we didn't do it, but I saw a small parking lot right in front of the hotel. With some guidance and a little map from the hotel it was easy to reach from the other side of the old town although I would not advice so if you're not comfortable of navigating in narrow and inclining streets.

United KingdomParking was an issue as the car had to be faced one way after parking in a very tight street in a classic car to get told to turn it around seemed absolutely stupid it’s the same length what ever way it faces but this was a massive issue
Location quirkiness

United KingdomThe room we stayed in was very dated, as in decor, but large. The ensuite was just functional, the bath plug didn’t hold water and really was narrow and short. The toilet seat was loose and there is mould in the silicone around the bath. The breakfast was disappointing, although a good range. We would have liked eggs but didn’t see the sign till after. and even though it had rained during the night, someone could easily have dried the chairs and we could have sat outside for our breakfast, which was to be one of the highlights ,for us ,during our stay. Very expensive for what it is,but sure the price reflects the location and the pool. Do Not attempt to drive up to the hotel, unless you are fully aware of how narrow and steep with right angle turns the access is. There are obstacles and people in the road and then 2 deep parking carport opposite the hotel. We were asked to leave our key with reception, so our vehicle could be moved if necessary, which was a worry, as it was a hire car and I nearly burnt the clutch out on the hill! If we had known, we could easily have parked at the bottom car park and although a hill to climb with luggage, our car (hired) would not have been put at some risk negotiating the access. scary and G and T needed when you arrive.
Thé location is beautiful, the swimming pool gorgeous with a beautiful view. The gardens and outside spaces to sit are lovely. The reception, stone floors and front sitting room (open to guests) are beautifully authentic for the old French Hotel experience.

United StatesAs it turns out, all parking in village is free, though we didn't fully understand that prior to arrival. Closest parking required a significant uphill climb to locate the inn; not an issue for us, but could be for someone challenged to climb. Our room had stunning views, but might have felt a bit tight had we stayed more than one evening.
Very charming property with delightful views. Beautiful outdoor courtyard/garden for breakfast. Separate small pool courtyard, very picturesque.

FranceNothing.
The hotel exceeded our expectations. The venue is beautiful. We ate a delicious dinner on a terrace above the old town watching the sun go down over the whole town. Breakfast was lovely, and also served in those beautiful surroundings. The pool is beautiful, we had it to ourselves. There was nothing not to like at this hotel and I recommend it highly.
