How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We did not sleep well because the A/C made a lot of noise during the night, even though after turning it off. There was no kettle in the room to make tea. The lift had problems as well.
Good location, near the Pernety metro station and shops. Excellent breakfast.

Trying to get through the corridoor doors to my room in my wheelchair was difficult as they were heavy to open. My wheelchair would only fit in the lift folded. I'm lucky that I can stand and walk a few steps. For any disabled people who can't they would be stuck. I think a kettle in the room and an offer of breakfast in the room for diabled guests only could be beneficial and help make the stay easier.
The staff were so lovely, helpful and kind. Great breakfast, and I liked that there were plants growing inside the corridors. Size of room was really good and was accessible in the main. I slept really well which is the most important.

With fully booked the breakfast area was very crowded between 7 and 9

The room was a bit noisy in the afternoon (but quiet in the evening and night, which is the most important). The woman who met me at first was a bit abrupt (but the gentleman who took over was very friendly); having said that, I don't speak French very well, so perhaps it was me!
Clean room, good breakfast. Convenient to Gare Montparnasse.

The rooms are very small, without coffee/tea options. The breakfast room is small, dark, no windows, not nice. Our showerwater did not drain, it was not fixed during the three nights we stayed there (which was partly in the weekend, so perhaps no technician could be found).
The location of the hotel is excellent. Metro is very close and many nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. Nearby was also a small supermarket/hema. The hotel was clean. The staff is very friendly and tries to accommodate you, we asked for a quiet room and they made the effort to switch ours to the back of the hotel.

Some more towels would have been handy. We probably could have asked though.
Great location, room size is as expected for Paris (tiny!). No frills but great for the price. WiFi brilliant as well as the AC which helped massively during a heatwave!

It was a bit odd to see that cleaning lady makes the bed perfect and then just throws our sleeping wear on it.
Close to metro station. Good breakfast and stable wi-fi connection.

Good location from Montparnasse station, very friendly area with nice small restaurants and cafés. Feels like you are in daily life Paris. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Possible to leave the luggage if you want to visit Paris just over the day and collect it before leaving. Also in handy walking distance to RER B and Charles de Gaulle Airport.
