Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe restaurant was closed on Monday, meaning we had to take a 5 mile taxi ride to have dinner (€50 each way as the taxi had to drive from Deauville to collect us & pick us up). It would have been good to know while booking that the restaurant isn't always open.

DenmarkBreakfast could be better. There were no vegetables, dark bread or eggs. Not many options for vegans or vegetarians. Also no warm options/dishes. Rooms did not have kettles and possibility to make tea or coffee.
Very cosy, silent and relaxing hotel, away from crowds. Great view on the sea. Close (10-15 min walk) to intimate beach. Close by car to beautiful small towns Honfleur and Deauville.

United KingdomThe only negatives were the showers in our bedrooms. Not enough room to stand up and shower. This may just be specific to the rooms we had on the 2nd floor. No coffee and tea making facilities.
We used the swimming pools which were great and location was perfect for us, near to Honfleur but away from the hustle and bustle. A very picturesque setting.

SlovakiaWe were told during check in there is a restaurant for dinner available. Hour later we tried to get a table. However, they were full, so we had to go to the village/city (15 min drive time). They were not flexible to provide meal to the room or on the terrace, which has been empty. The problem was it was late evening and our 5 months old baby was not in the travelling mood. The restaurant staff simply did not care at all nor tried to offer at least some alternative.
The price is quite floating for this hotel, if you book it under 150 eur it would be really great value for money. Nice room, location with perfect view, renovated hotel, good parking.

United Kingdommagical hotel in a stunning location. peaceful, beautiful countryside and sea views. lovely outdoor pool, where you hear bird song, plus an indoor pool. family run hotel where they are trying so hard. good luck to them. Gorgeous vibrant pretty harbour town of Honfleur is 15 minute drive in one direction, and lovely little town 5 minutes drive plus stunningly sandy beach. Went to a lovely bar, and two good restaurants nearby. Thoroughly recommend a getaway here, we loved it. much better than I expected!

United KingdomLe Romantica was expensive given the poor standard of the room, the breakfast and the staff. The room was in need of total refurbishment and repair to make it acceptable. The private patio was liberally decorated with cigarette ends and used matches and would greatly benefit from sight of a broom. The hotel advertises a restaurant and a bar, but neither was available when we were there and looked as if they had not been used for some time.

United StatesWe liked everything about the hotel.
We were pleasantly greeted by a charming woman who showed us around the hotel, pointing out the amenities like the indoor pool and the lovely gardens overlooking the sea. The staff were all helpful and gracious. The hotel setting is superb. Not only does it overlook the sea, but it is within just a few miles of Honfleur and Deauville, both lovely towns, the former with a picturesque port and the latter with a magnificent beach. I

United StatesCHEAP!!! Rooms were very old. Photos don’t show the reality. Old spotty wall to wall carpet. Old refrigerators that didn’t turn cold and rusty/dirty inside, with rusty bottle openers we didn’t feel like touching. The location is nice but isolated. Unless you go to the hotel’s restaurant there aren’t many places to eat. The dinner menu was small, 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and even these cooked mediocre. We tried to avoid the hotel’s restaurant given its limited menu but for over an hr we couldn’t find a place to eat dinner. No lights outside as you come down the steps. If you need to go to the parking, you need to use your phone’s flashlight. In the rooms, 2 plugs/room. Only one plug on each side of the bed, if you need a night lamp and to charge your phone you have a choice to make: light or charge? No tea bag or coffee in the rooms. One room cost 319 euros/night! Shampoo stands for body soap, shampoo and conditioner altogether. I wrote a message to the front desk which was not answered. The next morning the person at the front desk said with nonchalance that the building is old. As if I care. For that amount they should have some decency on the state of their rooms and what they offer. There are old buildings beautifully redone. Also a bag of tea/coffee, some soap for the shower, a couple plugs by the bed don’t cost a lot. It’s minimum comfort. We moved to a 5 star hotel that charges the same, duplex that fit the whole family with kitchen and big balcony in Deauville. Pierre & Vacances. I will also delete Booking.com, they don’t take any responsibility, they only take their fee and allow a host to do as they please.

Luxembourgthe room was clean but in an area in the hotel close to the bins. The staircase to be used was small and might be dangerous. The room wifi was poor , moreover breakfast was only available as of 08.00 Hr. Not useful for somebody travelling passing by. The restaurant menu : choice of three meals whereby one was only to be taken for two persons. ANd once the meal received : meat was cold drawn in the sauce. Poor service and the price too expensive . Recommend not to go there for paying a price of 89 EUR for a rooom. i got better using Booking

IrelandThere were 4 “holds’ placed on our card totalling almost 3 times the amount of the total stag. These have still not been refunded (4 days later). The receptionist was lovely and did her best to help us however when the manager came he was the opposite. He spoke over me consistently, walked away whilst we were trying to resolve the problem and refused to engage in a calm manner. There was another family checking out at the same time who had the same issue and were similarly treated. It was a very upsetting experience and the entire process (which lasted 45 minutes) was really not helped by his nasty and unprofessional approach. Additionally, the money not being returned yet has involved further stress and financial pressure.
The junior suite was large and there are ample parking facilities. The view was beautiful and our dog was allowed everywhere in the hotel. The pool facilities are good

United KingdomCould tell this was a hotel that was/is a little tired around the edges - the pub red carpet. But frankly the location, the facilities, the staff and the value do make these things moot. But I would recommend a bath mat in bathroom (essential really), some tea/coffee making facilities in room (I'd have loved a coffee at 6am...) and probably some better shampoo (not an all in one stuff). But all in good time !
Stunning value ! Amazing location with views to the sea. Really quiet, only bird noise. Pool(s) were a lovely feature, especially after a long day travelling. Room was big, bed comfy and I slept really well. We ate in the restaurant and this was really good too. Perhaps the best frites I have ever had to be honest, ever anywhere ! Steak was pretty darn tasty too. I'd come back and stay for longer next time rather than just a visit passing through.

Sparkling clean, all the amenities were provided, really value for money. The host in the reception is very kind and helpful (and English speaker!). It is located in a quiet area close to the beach, with amazing view. A very appreciated breakfast was prepared for me (being a vegetarian).
