Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAppreciated the local, rustic, warm interior decoration and the casual and friendly reception by all the staff. Breakfast was very good (coffee, breads, yogurt, fruit, preserves, eggs, etc) and liked location close to restaurants and shops and views of the mountains. It was extra special to be there during a festival weekend to experience the local appreciation for their customs, their community joy in celebration, the music, the food, etc. It was great being so close to Nature and all the sport (hiking, biking) and just being in such a gorgeous environment.

BelgiumBreakfast wasn't worth € 11,50 pp (you can better buy your breakfast at the Carrefour or the bakery nearby), the restaurant was not open in a day of long weekend (when all the other restaurants in town were fully booked), strange smell in the bathroom
Very nice location in the center of Luz St Saveur

United StatesThere is no air conditioning, and it was hot during our stay. Fortunately, a fan was provided which did a good job keeping us cool at night.
The owners of this hotel really put a personal touch on things. It was super cute, cozy and comfortable. They had just opened a vegan restaurant which was delicious! We received so many excellent recommendations of things to do, and enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to extend our stay an extra day. Most of the staff speaks English, which made things also very easy for us.

United KingdomThe shower.
Not the best room I’ve stayed in and not exactly cheap. That may be due to me being a solo traveller. I guess you’re paying a premium for staying at the base of the Col du Tourmalet! The Hotel was ok, clean enough. Bedroom and bathroom were a good size. The bed was comfortable. The shower let the room down. Low pressure and so difficult to get the temperature right. Neither the bedroom or the bathroom were particularly pleasant places to be. The hotel team were very friendly and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was next door, at an extra charge, which was good.

CanadaGorgeous hotel on a quiet street but close to everything in Luz. Lovely people with loads of information about things to do and see, whose welcome made it feel that we were staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel. But a friend's house in a beautiful building with amazing breakfasts. We loved how the hotel spilled out on to the street during the evening, and enjoyed a glass of wine or two right next to a templar church.

United Statesflys all over the place. At breakfast, I counted 7-8 flys on wall while eating. Nevertheless, eating was turned off by flys flying around/on the food and so forth. Suggested screens on the windows and door. Got a no and that they would be gone in 2 weeks. H'mmmmmm. Flys where everywhere else too. In stores, restaurants, just everywhere.
Wi-Fi ok, best in lounge vs room. THOUGHT HOTEL WAS IN CENTER OFTOWN, BUTWAS A BLOCK AWAY,. FELT MISLEAD BY AD, NEVERTHELESS, OK NICE TOWN, EASY CAR PARK, MGR/OWNER 5 STAR FOR IMFORMATIVE AND HELP, DIRECTIONS, ETC.

NetherlandsThe pricing was horrendous, got nothing to do with the price I got offered by Booking Com or the room prices shown exposed in the hotel. Paid more than 100 euro /room/night, instead of 80 something. The first time my hotel price did vary from my booking. price. Never again. No comments on Personal and Hygiyene, as no cleaning service was offered

United KingdomThe beds were a little hard for me however I solved this by putting the very plush quilt underneath me - so ultimately not a problem. The only other suggestion I'd have is that they needed an extra towel and soap in the separate toilet - the loo and the shower room were separate. Other than that - perfect.
The hotel is just gorgeous and has a lot of character. Both inside and outside, the hotel was very pretty and there was always something nice to catch your eye. The room was very spacious and had some storage as well as a few chairs etc. The breakfast was delightful with lots of choice. The staff were excellent - both very friendly and knowledgable about the area and (thankfully for us, as our French is rubbish) spoke english very well. Parking was not directly within the hotel, but this wasn't too problematic as there was a free carpark very close by, and also a side alley with more parking (which was even better). Very good location - right in town, but not noisy. A short and lovely drive to Gavarnie (which is truly unbelievable and an absolute must for nature lovers). Would highly recommend this place.

United KingdomIf you are looking for a pretty unpretentious hotel in a square opposite an 11th century church, with mountains behind, wholesome food, bio wines, home made yoghurts and a great base for exploring Gavarnie, Pont d'Espagne, GR10 and Tour de France Pyrenean cycling climbs including the Col du Tourmalet, then look no further. The hotel is run by Sian who's multilingual, a mine of information and super helpful about local routes and places to go.
