Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThere were no lockers for personal valuables in the room (no problem for me as I was alone); and windows had no curtains which isn’t ideal as it’s next to train station that is well lit also at night, despite privacy curtains on the bed there was still some light coming through; the hostel is huge and layout needs some getting used to;
Recently renovated; I had 6 bed dorm to myself including kitchenette, 2 bathroom and 1 toilette and big dining table. Staff was super friendly and communicated well. The beds each have a.shelf, mirror, dimmable light strips, and good mattress and bedding and privacy curvy. Bunks seemed very sturdy and you get a towel for free. WiFi worked well. Easy late check in at sister hotel just next door.

Canadano soap. tp was not replaced during my two night stay but there was enough with 3 toilets. no locker. no fan. key card issues - went to the front desk 3 times in a row to reset my card before they finally gave me a new card. also a weird thing happened where some dude used their key on our female dorm, entered, said "woops" like they were in the wrong place, then turned around and left. i visited Le Havre when the weather was hazey so my experience was not as beautiful as i had hoped, the public sculptures i found were quite boring, and there was a lot of construction going on (not every corner had a crosswalk and not every road had a sidewalk). dirty air, next to a main road and train/bus station.
kitchenette!! towels. 3 toilets, 2 showers in a room with six beds. big table with chairs. shelf, light, and plug beside each bed and curtains. this location is close to lots of convenience! nice people in Le Havre and lots of students.

United KingdomWe arrived very late as we used this as a travel stop over. It was very confusing where we needed to collect the keys. It was poorly lit and a I was lucky to find a sign to collect keys from a hotel around the corner. Once I located this the whole process was very simple
The room was clean and a good size. Beds were very comfortable. Perfect for what we needed.

PolandI really lacked some kind of table with chairs or something like this since I had a bed on the top and couldn’t sit comfortably
The location is perfect if you’re traveling by bus or train - 5 minutes from the station. Nearby you have a big shopping center, amazing boulangerie, different shops. The room was clean.

SpainI contacted the staff by email to ask them if there was a kitchen they said no, but indeed there was. The neighborhood is very industrial and far from city center if you're planning to see Le Havre.
The hostel is very close to the train station and to the buses, which is perfect to go visit Normandy. The room was very comfortable, in the bed there were curtains for privacy and three chargers, as well as small shelves. We had two bathrooms and a toiled in a room of 6 people and a small kitchen in the room with facilities to cook and a microwave. If you are going to Etretat, you are 5 mins away from the bus stop

NetherlandsAll was good. The only thing that I can think off is that its far from the cathedral and the sight seeing places
I had booked in hostel but due tp some issue with security, they provided me free upgrade to their 3 star hotel. The hotel room was good with all facilities. It also had TV hair dryer and toileteries. The location was very good and convenient, 7 mins walk from train station and shopping center. Check out time was also late, till 12noon.

FranceThere are a few things, that I have to say. First, when I just came to the property (it was around 7 pm), the main reception door was closed and nobody was there, which made me worried (at the website I mentioned that I'm coming at this time and it says on the website that it's open from 7am to 10 pm). Then I've learnt that there's a different night entrance, but it was only for people who were already registered. One girl told me to try to pull harder the same door I've been to before. I tried, and it didn't work. Then somewhere in the corner of the information posters on the wall I found, that there's a Birgit hotel where you can go, if the door for the hostel is closed. It worked. Second, when I tried to get some rest and sleep there were people who were talking out loud inside the room at around 11 pm. Only when I told them it's impossible for me to sleep, they got silent. But it didn't help for a long time. Since the window was open at night (to sleep with the window closed would be awful cause it was hot inside) and there's no mosquito net there were a lot of mosquitos inside the room (in my imagination there was a dozen of them only next to my bed). Seems like a little thing, but made me so much uncomfortable and, unfortunately, I almost didn't sleep. Was waiting till the morning to checked-out as quickly as possible. Just a little recommendation for you: to put a big sign/arrows about Birgit hotel, where you can also register, if the main door for the hostel is closed; to make silent and no light hours for the hostel; to make mosquito nets.
Overall, the bed and sheets were clean and comfortable. You have separated bathroom only for your room and people there. They made it quite nice with the key - card, so you can enter the building and your room whatever you want. The staff is fine.

FranceThe staff was not good people and not possible to reach them for a problem. Air condition didn’t work by purpose. It was shut down by hostel. There was so much noisy from the train gare. Sleeping was not possible because of it. My phone charging cable ‘taken’ by the stuff and the reception didn’t answer my msg. I will never ever walk down the street next to this hostel.
It was cheap

GermanyIt would be nice if they had a hairdryer for the colder days and also some soap or cleaning detergent for cleaning the pots and plates after usage.
The entire room looked like just have been renovated. I really liked the curtains at each bed and the reading light. I stayed in a 6-bedroom for female travelers. There were three bathrooms, a kitchen with fridge and even a table for eating. Everything looked very clean. AC was working perfectly. You get a towel for free too.

FranceAir conditioning in the room was deactivated by hostel. If you open the windows, you cannot sleep with the noises from the train gare, if close them you cannot by hot weather. So it was cheap but I couldn’t sleep. The bathroom in the room stuck, we couldn’t use it. Last day I changed my room in the same floor. But I forget Apple charging on my bed in the previous room. There was 2 person in the room, another guest in the room was my friend. When we checked it, my bed was tidy and prepared for another guest but my chargeur was disappeared. Probably hostel cleaning stuff took it. I’ve tried to take it back all during the day.The reception was closed Monday’s afternoon and never replied my msg. They never replied any msg. So they took and « KEPT » my chargeur and I had to pay over 50 € for new one. Untrustable hostel and company, NEVER suggest it!
In the beginning, it was cheap, close to train station and there were some cute graffitis on the wall. But I’ve disappointed after staying and experiencing the hostel
