How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No air con, 1 toilet on the floor for 10 rooms, too noisy to open the windows( night club opposite???) The interior is dated back to 80s?
The hotel is very conveniently located for the purpose of my trip. The bathroom was small but nice, white good quality towels, shiny taps and basin

The room itself was adequate. Although the foyer has had a v smart refit, the other corridors and the rooms are just adequate. We did not have a toilet in our room, so it was a bit of a pain to go to the end of the hallway to use the toilet, but we were only staying for 1 night, and we were aware of our room type when booking.
The location was fabulous. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were made to feel welcome, and even chilled our bottle of bubbles for us. The foyer is very nice if you want to sit and have breakfast, or just sit in the space. The bathroom was fitted out nicely. We got a great rate and overall we were very happy with our stay in Paris.

Of course, the price. I've traveled a lot and have been in over 100 hotels and apartments and the value you get for the price paid isn't that good, but it's Paris, so what you can do, this isn't something specific about this hotel, it's in general about Paris, but it's up to you what you want: central location or lower price.
The location is really good, that's the reason we actually rented it. The facilities are also nice, and the breakfast was delicious, a real French experience. If you'd like to live relatively close to the city center, I can definitely recommend this one.

The room was very small, without a toilet (floor restroom) which was known in advance, but still wasn't comfortable at all, and the hotel was fully booked so we couldn't change. The location is central, but not as many metro lines so we had to switch a lot.
The staff was very kind and breakfast was great, good value.

The hotel was good. The only drawback on this trip to Paris was my last night being (by accident) prior to the big football match in Paris and having to pay a small fortune for that nights's hotel room!

The room and hotel were extremely small, bordering on being a little claustrophobic. The furniture, elevator and stairwell could be updated to be contemporary and convenient.
The location of Hotel Vivienne was central and very easy to find. The staff were very accommodating of our early arrival and also stored our bags the whole day after we checked-out earlier in the morning.

Terrible beds and pillows . Both were hard and couldn’t be slept in properly . Street noise at 4am was awful. A bunch of people outside decided to have the loudest discussions ever

No kettle in the room with cups, door was slightly dodgy and could hear people walking up and down constantly.
Lovely breakfast, staff was very friendly, staff was happy to go over and beyond to help us with any questions

Small room with small bathroom..like in the pictures but not quite. The pictures are beautified :).
The staff are very nice, friendly. The breakfast is perfect: fresh croissants and fresh baguette, orange juice, coffee and hot milk. The room where you take the breakfast seems renovated and looks lovely. The rooms are clean, towels changed every day with no exception. The area is nice, very close to metro, some objectives can be reached by foot in a 30 minutes walk. I would stay here again.
