Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SwedenExcellent service from start to finish. We came early and the staff did what they could to hurry up the checkin and offered us complimentary beverages while waiting. Later we were surprised with complementary sparkling wine at our room, to enjoy in our big terrace overlooking the Acropolis. Near everything in Plaka. Perfect when travelling with smaller children. The breakfast was amazing.

The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful when I had my wallet stolen during the last night of my stay. I was able to cancel all my cards but was left with no cash and no funds until my flight home the next day. I had prepaid for my hotel and taxi, thankfully. Vassia and Penny (sp?) packed a bag full of travel food for me, which was such a thoughtful and kind gesture. I will never forget it! Also, my hotel room was available for early check in, which is wonderful since my flight had arrived so early that day. This beautiful hotel has an unparalleled and accommodating staff!

PortugalThe cleaning staff needs to be more attentive about the noise in the morning. If someone wants to sleep a bit more ia going to have some trouble because they keep talking very loud in the corridor while cleaning other rooms.
The staff was pretty welcoming and the room was very clean.

The staff is exceptional. They also have the most delightful breakfast, with fresh squeezed orange juice that is out of this world. We were traveling on to explore the islands for 9 days and they stored three very large suitcases for us until we returned. The property location is amazing. You can see Hadrian’s Arch at the end of what may be one of the oldest streets in Athens. The surrounding neighborhood is quaint and charming with a pedestrian area filled with shops and dining at the foot of the Acropolis. I would definitely stay there again.

Proximity to many of Athens' historic locations/ruins. Very short walk to the pedestrian alleys w/ many shops & restaurants. Very attentive staff, met/exceeded all our needs/requests. Room service breakfast was very nice & substantial.

The location in the Plaka near the Acropolis museum was excellent. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and large. The staff contacted us and mailed ahead a charger that we'd forgotten. We've never had that happen before. Kudos!

United StatesWe would have liked a microwave in the kitchen. I would have enjoyed a place to sit outdoors, maybe on the roof. We were there several days and our only choice, when we weren't sightseeing, was either to sit in our room or a park bench.
Ava is a beautiful hotel and perfectly located at the base of the Acropolis. We had a room with a kitchenette and couch. It was quite well arranged with very comfortable bedding. The entire hotel was immaculate. The staff worked very hard to make us happy. My wife called the front desk to ask for an iron. Within 5 minutes they brought and iron and an ironing board. On checkout day we had an early flight, so they gave us each a bag full of food to eat on our way to the airport. There were two types of coffee makers and a tea pot in the kitchen.

United StatesBar was closed due to Covid, so, we could not ahve a late drink but, well.. you are steps away from Plaka so, no major problem and it is what the government is ordering them to do.
Location was amazing, 2 blocks from Plaka, best area for outside seating in restaurants and local shopping. Close to station 2 of Hop-on and hop-off bus. We bought the Athens route so, we used to visit Parthenon and Acropolis & Museum. Front desk staff is amazingly helpful, making Restaurant reservations, suggesting times to depart. taking order for Breakfast which was great. Since we didi not order a lot of stuff, they only charged us for 1 bkfst and not 2. Room has a small kitchen and a great island area for breakfast. Coffee Machine was great. Clean and with personality
