Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe air conditioner has not been working for over a week probably longer than that which is false advertising. For breakfast, you’ll have something for breakfast. The milk was stale. The location is sketchy. I will not stay there with kids.
The size of the room is good for 2 people. The location is close to the train stations to the city center and airport. The water in the shower is great. The room has a veranda that helped with the a/c not working.

PolandThe room was very tiny, the window opened at the something which looked like a ventilation shaft, so it was impossible to air the room properly. And as the air conditioning, though making a lot of noise, was barely working, the room was hot like an oven, I could not sleep properly in that heat. It was virtually impossible to take a shower without flooding the bathroom. The breakfast was a joke: no fresh bread (only one to toast), some bland salami and mediocre cheese, no fruits, no vegetables, after one meal I'd decided to breakfast outside the hotel.
The price is great the room is clean, the room service ok.

AustraliaThe room was 30 degree and air conditioning in the room was not working. Told the staff and the only option was for us to open the windows (without burglary proof) overnight. Couldn’t sleep all night. No socket near the bed and the toilet and shower was ridiculous.
Good location but dirty neighbourhood that is close to the train station.

SpainThe air-conditioner was broken and I was told to open the windows instead. But that didn't cool the room much and let in a lot of noise: Roaring motorbikes, raised voices from nearby apartments and random shouts from the homeless people on the street below.
The room was clean. The property was quaint. It was very close to Larissa train station.

United StatesThe facilities were extremely poor. The room AC did not work at all and they refused to move me to another room even though I know there were empty rooms. They told me nothing could be done and it could be fixed with a phone call at 0700 when I was checking out at 0400 for a early flight home. This meant my girlfriend and I had to sleep in a room that was above 34 degrees Celsius/88 degrees Fahrenheit with no airflow all night. I opened the window to try to create a breeze and the window binder was broken and unable to be rolled up which blocked any airflow from the balcony window. If you wanted to go into the balcony you had to move the heavy binder that could not be rolled up and crawl underneath. Don’t stay here. Go anywhere else. This was my worst experience with booking.com and I will definitely be seeking a refund.
The only good thing about the property is I wasn’t sleeping on the street

United KingdomSheets + bedding were not clean. There were marks on the sheets that looked like mould. Bedding smelt like smoke. Neighbourhood is also quite dodgy. Would not recommend staying as a solo traveller for safety.
Hotel is in a good location to catch the metro train into town which is super convenient.

Very well placed as a stop-over when arriving by train because it was so close to the station, has a lift, air-con rooms and clean, comfortable rooms. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Easy to get to the port at Piraeus using the red Metro line to Omonia then the green line to Piraeus port. A two-journey per person ticket easily available from machines in the metro station for 2.30 Euros, every few minutes. Plenty of places to eat nearby, often Halal, but we went to a lovely square with the Ayios Pavlos church, next to which is a great Grill restaurant serving excellent food till late.
