How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Maria was very welcoming, kind and helpful. she gave us many tips about the city and information. the apartment is comfortable, clean and has everything needed (coffee machine etc...). the location is good, 15 walk from main attractions.

The location is quite noisy, but it was ok for one-night stay.
The location was convenient to old town/Acropolis - ~ 10 minutes walking distance. The host was very accommodative - allowed us to check out later in the afternoon, as they did not have anyone renting that day. We were able to keep our luggage there until 3 pm and pick it up on the way to the airport.

We couldn’t open the windows but the AC max the place cooler. This is a small detail in a a place that has so much to offer.
The hosts were amazing .well done to both of them! From the start to the end, they helped us with everything. The apartment has a great location and is very well equipped . We worked while we were there and the Wi-Fi was perfect.

If you are a light sleeper, this may not be for you, because the apartment is on the ground floor with windows facing directly on the street. This was not a problem for us, but it may be for other people. The building is old and had a bit of a moldy smell, we opened the windows and it was ok.
The apartment has great value for money, it is situated downtown close to the main attractions. It is very clean and the beds are comfortable. The nespresso coffee machine was a nice touch. The hosts were very accommodating with our needs.

Ground floor, it's impossible to open windows due to the noise and the smell of passing cars.
Central location, very clean apartment, has everything you need in the kitchen, including a variety of teas and coffee if you want. There are many cafes in the area where you can drink and eat. The host's son is very nice, answered our questions, and gave tips on what to see and how to get there.

The host was extremely polite, he also give us a late check out for free. The location is great - it is from Syntagma ( Center) 15 min walk, also the metro station is on 5 min if you want to go to the Acropolis by metro. It is on first floor, so no stairs, and also for Athens center is reasonable quiet in the evening - no bars, only traffic - even with kids for center is quiet enough. Kitchen has good ammenities, and there is washing machine. Great value. The beds are very comfortable, everything is clean.

The owner's son Nikiforos met us at the door when we arrived. He was flexible and wanted us to have the most comfortable stay possible. He even bought us the national drink of Greece to try.

The appartement is located in the middle of Athens, so practically everything is very close and easily approachable, the Metro station is within 4 minutes walk. The neighborhood is pretty colorful and lively. Our host, Maria and his son Nikiforos are the friendliest people I have met in all Greece.

We worked with the hosts to also secure a pickup from the Airport. Maria & her son Nikiforos went the extra mile to ensure we had the best possible stay! 4 of us stayed two nights in the two bedroom place. The value you for money was perfect and the location of the apartment is easy walking distance from the centre of town! The facilities were perfect for a short stay. We didn't need to use the kitchen however they are there and ready to use. The beds are comfortable and when required there is A/C. Check and Check out was easy and with the help the hosts we were able to leave our bags a little longer so we could keep exploring the town on the day of checkout. We would stay here again. Particular shout out to Nikiforos who ensured we had recommendations for food and activities and all the right ways to spend out time in Athens. Thanks so much!

The host was super friendly and helpful, he took the time to make a tour of the accomodation and helped us aorund Athens giving us good advice. The apartment was spacious and clean, equipped with AC and comfortable beds, close to the subway and 10 minutes away from the city center. We enjoyed our stay!

I think because we were 4 it was difficult to spend anytime in the property except to sleep. which was fine we were out exploring Athens!
the property was in a great location to explore Athens. Beds were very comfortable and loved the coffee machine! Sophia collecting is from the airport was great including our tour of Athens! Maria was also very available through the messages we felt like we had someone to go to if we needed it.

No cutting board and better knives but it was still amazing, not everyone wants to cook so it is not a problem at all.
The host is amazing, kind and really helpful. The extra steps taken for us made everything smooth and we felt really welcomed.

Nothing fully as expected
The hospitality of the owner and her son was faboulous. Really nice and helpfull. Location very close to city center (walking distance or public transport), but also close to nice area's with less tourists.

Maria was waiting for me in the apartment. She was helpful with everything. The place is cozy in two minutes walking distance from the famus trilogy Academia, Panepistimio and Vivliothiki and the metro station of Panepistimio, realy in the heart of Athens.
