Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe town of Pythagorio is incredibly beautiful, small and cozy located on a steep hill with a very cozy harbor. The hotel Tasana is located at the very end of the harbor boulevard and is really worth a visit. Typical Greek atmosphere, especially because of the nice staff and the special owner, a very nice man. The terrace is located from the sea, you can take a nice dip tomorrow or relax on the sunbeds. Enjoyed the delicious dishes that differ every day depending on the chef's inspiration.

ItalyHotel Tarsanas has probably the best location of all the hotels in the city. Own beach, terrace right on the beach, at night you can listen to the sound of the waves on the beach. The hotel would certainly need a refreshment, but the host "George" is friendly and happy to tell you about the city and its sights.

United KingdomThe breakfast was a little basic.
Taransas is an old fashioned hotel, basic but friendly and helpful. It reminded me of my trips to Greece as a young man in the 1980s,informal, friendly maybe a bit rough and ready but George and the others were truly hospitable in an old fashioned Greek way. If you want a modern hotel with top rate facilities, dont come here but if you want to discuss Greek history, literature and music with George, its the place for you. And two minutes from the (pebbly) beach

TurkeySince the building is very old, the water drains smell. we constantly ventilated the room. This was the only bad thing, but you can still choose it because it is preferable for the price. It was the most suitable hotel in the location. That's why we preferred it and our expectations were accordingly.
The location is very good. The staff is friendly. Breakfast was adequate. The rooms had a nice sea view. There is live music some evenings, it can be preferred.

AustraliaRooms are pretty run down and there is some lack of maintenance. The toilet leaks, there was no bathroom floor mat. There was only thick blankets, lucky we had some light bed covers from our shopping and we could use our own. We had dinner at the restaurant just once. Seafood was delicious and fresh. But the dolmades tasted like from a can, not homemade. No flyscreen on the doors. Balcony floor was covered with thin, old and cracked plywood.
Breakfast was OK. It consists of fried eggs, ham, cheese, toast with butter and jams, and tea&coffee. Vera was lovely.

United KingdomDon't let first impressions put you off, this is not a hotel with reception and bar etc.. It is a very old traditional building with character, which does have the appearance of being run down, but if, like us, you want a simple Greek experience with amazing hospitality, then Tarsanas is the place for you. Ps. if you are allergic to cats, this is not for you.
The location was excellent. Right on a little beach with free sunbeds if you were staying at the Taverna.. The food was really good, typical home cooked Greek cuisine.. For the price of the room, the breakfast was much better than we had expected, eggs, toast, yoghurt with honey, meat and cheese etc, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Our room was simple, a little bit outdated, and the bathrooms need modernising, but it was a good size with a lovely view from the balcony . All the staff were really friendly and the live music 3/4 nights a week were great.

FinlandThe rooms could use an update, especially the (tiny) bathrooms are very old and worn with some broken tiles, toilet wouldn’t flush properly and the shower curtains were dirty.
Perfect location right on the beach just steps away from the ferry and the harbour restaurants and bars. Beautiful seaview from the balcony. Nice breakfast, friendly staff. Free sunbeds for hotel guests.

United KingdomI'm not a great fan of the plastic shower curtain, but in this case it worked quite well and I managed to shower without flooding the floor.
This traditional hotel is located on the sunny south coast, on the beach, with no road between the building and sea. It is extremely convenient for the Pythagorian ferry. We received a wonderfully warm welcome, were well looked after and our room had everything we required for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was sufficient to our needs, included delicious yoghurt and honey, and being serenaded with live classical guitar. Both the building and its owner could be described as a touch idiosyncratic, but in a very pleasant way.

SwitzerlandOk its a traditional taverna, and this sounds very lovely. But the taverna needs realy some renovations. No matter how much you clean the rooms, they look dirty and we were hesitant in terms of hygiene. A cockroach came out of the bathroom and we were constantly stressed after that incident and couldn’t open the balcony completely anymore. When we reported this, the owner came and sprayed insecticide in the bathroom. But this is definitely not a situation that can be solved with insecticides found at home. He said that the insects came from outside. There were cracks and holes in the tiles. And such events often occur in such old and unrenovated houses. Even the toilet seat is so old that it looks dirty and unhygienic. There is residue in the toilet and it looks like it is very dirty. Our bed was very old, it felt like it would collapse at any moment. The towels given to us were stained so we asked for a second towel. We don't understand what the refrigerators in the room, the stove above them and the fountain are for. It takes up unnecessary space and we could barely fit our suitcase. It was insufficient size for a double room. Suitable for short stay but we did not enjoy our 5 night stay.
Just the location and sea view. The staff was friendly, too. If you are looking for a central place in Samos, want it at an affordable price and do not care about hygiene, this is a place you can stay. I took more than more photos, but I could only upload a limited number of photos (pls see other photos too)
