How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Pool was too small but is ok if you just want to refresh yourself.
Breakfast was ok. Typical breakfast in Guatemala. Staff really cool. The room always clean. Rooms on 3rd floor have AC and are big enough for 2 people.

The room was a little stuffy.
The building is cute with nice common spaces. The location is great and surprisingly quiet. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable enough. I appreciated the fan.

Rooms/bathrooms are very small and outdated and you can hear next room bathroom noises There was only one option menu for breakfast Rooms have no air conditioning so it could get a little hot, there was portable a Fan in the room
Location was good, three blocks from town square, on site parking lot was a plus, the court yard is very nice, the staff made me feel very welcomed and were very helpful, they have a 24 hours front desk service, I checked in at 10:30 PM and out at 6:00 AM

The main street traffic noise (it's expected), though for the price, it's manageable. The room can get a bit humid , so leaving the window open was helpful.
I enjoyed the convenience of being in Antigua vs. the outskirts. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was clean and had shampoo and conditioner available.

Wifi connection is terrible (non existant) but not an issue if you have got your own data plan..warm shower was observed here and there.. okay if you are there for a couple of days
It was a decent stay. Breakfast was good staff was friendly. Somehow it was a pleasant stay. Groceries was near by .. walkable to city center well can't complain

Noise is a factor to consider as the hotel is on a busy street near the market. The traffic noise wasn't an issue for me but the barking at night from the market dogs made it difficult to sleep at times.
My room was on the top floor & was spacious and clean with enough natural light. There is a nice patio & sitting area at the back by the pool. The pool is child size. The hotel is located close to all amenities & staff are helpful. It is a good hotel for a short stay.

The ventilation in the bathroom was holes in the wall which meant that you could hear the neighbours when they used their bathroom as if they were in your room!!
Perfect location to visit Antigua. Lovely gardens. Good traditional breakfast. Tiny pool to cool down after a day in the city..Small room but table and chairs outside room to read, relax, play cards....

The location is near the central market and the street is very crowded. I had a room right next to the street and if you have problems with the noise, you can't sleep. I asked quite late to change the room and it was not possible. The next day I asked for breakfast 15 minutes earlier, but it seems that he forgot to be notified... It was a bit unpleasant because we had a trip to Acatenango

Room 13 was small and no table or nightstand. However we asked for a table and one was given with no problem.
Great location. Staff was exceptional and friendly. Breakfast was great with nice outside patio and music. Too cold to use pool when we were there.
