Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EcuadorIt's now what the pictures show. The space is so small you barely can move around. You don't even have a window. You might feel claustrophobic. The building isn't secure at all, but the neighborhood is. The rooms are located in different buildings inside the market. You can take the lift to get there. One night a man even followed us from the entrance of the market and tried to take the same lift. Thank God, we didn't take that lift and the man seemed unhappy with that. We advise to have a door locker, so you can feel a little bit safer if you decide to stay there. It's not worth it if even if you want to save money.

RussiaVery small room in a very crowded building, first floor feels like India or Pakistan and not Hong Kong, if that's an issue for you - you'd better forget about this hostel and never consider staying here.
Nice location near Tsim Sha Tsui metro station, many shops, restaurants and McDonalds in a walking distance. There's also a ferry station to take a boat to HK island, which is a MUST. The manager was really helpful, I received a detailed instruction on how to get there from the airport, which was very helpful. You can

United StatesVery small and a bit below my travel standards.
Incredibly small and minimal. I was not aware of the building the property was in prior to booking. But for the location and cost I guess that’s what you get. Guesthouse equals hostel.

PhilippinesThe only thing that we did not like about the Chungking Mansions itself was that it can be too crowded on weekends. Other than this, we have no complaints on Comfort Guesthouse itself.
The staff were Filipinos so it’s very easy to communicate with them. Upon reaching their main front desk at Building C we were ushered to Building E since it was also their property. I must say that being transferred to Building E was more pleasant since there were almost no waiting line for elevator, meaning that part was not crowded unlike to Building A which when we passed through it was like a queue for restaurants or movie theater especially at night. About the room, please manage your expectations since it is a budget friendly hostel. If you are 2 adults, better to book the triple room. We were 3 adults and the triple room was a bit small for us since I stayed together with my boyfriend and brother, which by the way, were both 6 foot tall and has bulky body type. We stowed our luggage underneath the bed. Nonetheless, the room smelled clean and it was really clean. Their restroom has its own heater which was a plus point for me.

SingaporeI didn't like the communal pantry outside our room. We booked the family room and thought the pantry is for our use only. But guesthouse staffs are staying in one of the rooms and they mostly cook, fried fish to be exact. And the smell gets in the room. There are baby cockroaches in our room as well.
I like the location, it is near the MTR station.

United StatesWould have loved a window in our room, as across the hall the guy staying there had a really lovely window to get some light into the room. Other than that, it was great! The venders down below the hotel were amazing, and extremely friendly.
The lovely lady who checked us in was so polite and kind. Our room was comfortable, but a bit small (to be expected from the location though!). We only stay a night, but that area of Hong Kong is so cool that we could've stayed much longer.

AustraliaBuilding Management needs to do something about the touts who stand at the front door. They can get very pushy and annoying if you don't stand your ground with them. Also, on check-in, I had difficulty finding the Office because there are competing Guest Houses in the building and the elevators are hidden throughout. Please give detailed instructions to future guests.
The Staff were friendly. The Air-conditioning worked perfectly and the room came with a small fridge. Also the Guest House was located a short distance from the MTR, Supermarket, and Harbour.
