Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLate night bar noise music. More light was needed in our room. Many burned out light bulbs in the chandelier.
The vintage room decor was excellent. The bed was comfortable with multiple pillows. The host was informative and welcoming. The location was close to Pile Gate in Old Town.

FinlandSome facilities are a bit outdated and in need of renovation. For example, because the shower door could not close tightly, it was wet outside the cabin. The leaking bathroom sink also needs to be fixed. This was not a big deal for us and we found a solution, but the stay could have been more comfortable if these issues had been addressed.
The location is ideal for sightseeing. It was not noisy as it could be in such a place. I liked the breakfasts, they were more than enough for me. The owner was hospitable and responsive. There was an opportunity to leave luggage and exchange clothes. Room isn't big but we were ok with this, thought for someone it will be important.

United StatesThere was no remote for the tv in the room and the small table was falling apart.
The breakfast was very good and appreciated. We love the location and the room was very quaint and cute. The young man who was there to check is in and assist is was very helpful and we appreciated him so much. He helped me with my bag to the 4th floor.

United KingdomThe air con was on permanently at 20 degrees and I couldn't turn it off: the remote had power but had no effect on the machine. I arrive at 9am and there was no one in the building so no help. It was hard to sleep with the noise, cold, and drying effect. The toilet set had fallen off, one of the lamps was missing a bulb and the room hadn't been properly cleaned. The staff member the next day was apologetic, and nice, but it was a bad night for me.
The building has a great location, and street noise isn't as bad as in some places in the Old Town, though I was on the 7th floor, so was lucky that way. There's no lift as it is a small old building, but that was fine for me. The décor is quite nice. The breakfast was fine enough, simple, but fine.

Argentina-There was no lobby and the place where to have breakfast. -Noisy at night, as there are somebars right down the biulding. -Internet was not the best
-Location (inside Dubrovnick´s old town). -Staff. Very helpful. Breakfasts in hotels tend to be expensive, so it was nice to have one in the hotel (coffe, juice, a croisssant and ham and cheese).

South AfricaNo lift. OK for going up and down but not for bags.
Location excellent. Bit hard to find as 'streets' are actually just passageways. Room good but no lift so young man at reception/coffee bar had to carry 2 heavy bags up/down 3 flights of stairs. No way I could have carried them up as I am retired. Continental breakfast was good.

ColombiaI arrived after 7 pm and left before 7 am, so I didn't meet any of the staff or had breakfast.
The place is on a quiet alley. Just across a good wine bar. As in all of Dubrovnik's old town, there are plenty of shopping and eating options around. The room is spacious.

United StatesRoom was not stocked and we had to request things from the staff. They ran out of towels. Shower did not drain at all and no toiletries were provided. The room had very outdated furnishings and was a little stuffy - I imagine this would be worse in the summer. Also, Wi-Fi signal was spotty.
Very convenient location just off the main street in Old Town. We arrived very early in the morning and needed to store our luggage. The hotel was very responsive and communicative and had a room and key ready for us. Room was on the 3rd floor and fairly quiet, although it seemed like anything lower than that would be in the range of the loud music blaring in the restaurant. We only stayed one night and it was great for a quick, short stay.

GermanyThe hotel has a lot of stairs and there isn’t an elevator. At night, it was super loud outside, so we couldn’t keep the windows open. Breakfast is not worth the money. You get a few slices of bread, cheese and ham and that’s it.
The location is in the center of the old town.

Czech RepublicThe was a permanent smell in the room and hotel lobby. The toilet in the room is very small. Before entering you have to think why are you going there ;) Most of the lights are not working, everything looks very old. And it is not the style, it is just absense of investments in the hotel.
Staff was very friendly. The man on the reception allowed us to check out 4 hours later without additional payment. The location is great, center of the old town.

SwedenThe breakfast area is small and a bit dark, but it fills its purpose. Would have been nice to sit outside to have breakfast.
The staff was helpful and friendly and gave us tips about boat tours and restaurants. I had asked for a gluten free breakfast and got both an omelette and gluten free bread for breakfast which was great! The location is fantastic - right in the old town and close to the main street.
