How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Really reccomend this property, we stayed for 1 night but wish we could’ve stayed longer! Apartment was so clean and had everything we needed and the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly people! The location was great not even 5 mins to a beach and the town less than 10 minute walk.

Good room with small kitchen and bathroom. Owner was nice and helpfull. Location is short walk away from restaurants and cafes.

Super kind family, upgraded me to the big suite with seaview terrace which was amazing. Super close to the old town and provides free parking.

Our lovely host upgraded us for free to the bigger room, which offered wonderful balcony views to the sea. Luxurious space.

Was a bit of an uphill walk to get there from the port.
Apartment was clean, spacious and modern. Beds comfortable and great shower. Also Great outdoor patio area in the downstairs apartment.

I liked pretty much everything. It is a bit of a hike up from town so you have to be comfortable with steps, hills etc though there are probably taxis if it all gets to be too much. I managed well once the owner had shown me a few short cuts.
Very friendly, helpful welcome from wine-maker "Jonny". The setting is lovely - a pretty little garden full of birds, butterflies and bougainvillea. Beautiful views out to sea from the terrace. The kitchenette is well-equipped and the family is on hand to help with any problems.

We had a great stay here! The apartment was bigger than it seemed in the photos. The kitchen is a separate room with a door to the sitting room that you can close, which was great when I wanted to get up before my family, make tea, and sit out on the balcony without disturbing them. The family room had a couch that I thought from the photos was going to be the bed for the third person, but there was actually another bed in the room that they had made up for us. Đani gave us a bottle of his white wine that he produces in family tradition after his grandfather (he did not know it was our wedding anniversary!), and one night we sat outside with him for a glass of wine and a conversation. The apartment was very quiet. It is a bit of a walk from the port with luggage. He showed us a better way for luggage that includes an elevator, so ask him about that before you go if you don't plan to take a taxi. The bathroom was modern but small and everything was very clean. No laundry machine but there was a drying rack on our balcony. They were kind to provide beach towels when I asked. A small market is nearby and Hula Hula for sunset and swimming is also not too far. I hope to return to Hvar and stay at Apartments Mare in the future.

Nothing it was perfect
The flag was so clean and modern, only a short walk from the main centre of Hvar. It is uphill a little but manageable even with luggage. It was perfect for 3 people.

The location was perfect about 10mins from the main town and 10mins walk to the beach, basically right in the middle. Also 5min walk to a supermarket.
