Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBe prepared to walk up 120 steps to access the property, is a struggle if you have a lot of luggage.
Staying inside old town was an awesome experience. Clean accomodation with most facilities. Very close to restaurants, bars, cafes, markets and express style supermarkets.

GermanyThe terrible smell coming from both toilets. I wrote the property manager, they even brought some perfume, but it didn’t solve the problem.

United KingdomIt is right by the wall but unfortunately that means a long climb up a large number of stairs, which if you are not relatively fit might cause issues. There is a longer less vertical route from the Jesuit Steps which might help but wherever you go you will have steps to climb.
Holiday Home Kazerma is a great little house in a great location not far from the centre of Dubrovnik old town. Rooms are on the small side but very clean and comfortable. You’ll have all the facilities you’ll need in the kitchen and there is air con in all the rooms. The two shower rooms are great but the shower enclosures are a tad limited for movement. Good water flow and temperatures though.

Apartment was small but serviceable. Very clean, good air con. Good location in old town, close to everything. Host was highly responsive and most helpful

United KingdomIf you have poor knees and struggle with steps, then possibly look at how to get to the apartment to avoid them. There is a route but it takes a little longer.
A fabulous clean apartment, much bigger than the photo's make out, with 2 bathrooms (I thought there was only one) Apartment was fantastically situated in the middle of old Town, with restaurants and bars with sea views a few meters away.

United StatesThe location is difficult. You must climb ~6 flights of stairs in the old town to reach the apartment. Also the staircase within the apartment is very narrow and twisted so it is difficult to bring bags to bedrooms.
Apartment has everything we needed. It was convenient to have 2 bathrooms with showers and we used the washing machine a lot. We appreciated the air conditioning in multiple rooms since it was very hot during our stay.

AustraliaKazerma was the perfect haven for our family during the hottest days of July during our stay in Dubrovnik! Super neat and clean bedrooms and bathrooms, great kitchen, washing machine (and powder!) effective air con and friendly neighbourhood. There are some steeps steps to climb to get to/from the apartment, but other than the effort to carry bags, it was an excellent and quiet location to come back to after a day's activities. Loved it!

New ZealandThe internal staircase is very narrow. There are a lot of stairs to teach the apartment and you must carry your bag. Thankfully we found a porter service to help us.
Extremely clean and well equipped apartment. Two bathrooms were a bonus along with a water filter on the fridge complimentary juice and fresh tomatoes.

IrelandNothing. There was a few steps to reach the accommodation, but Dubrovnik is full of steps so it was not a problem.
Quality accommodation with everthing facility you would find in your own home, in a great location, easy to find and reasonably priced. What more could you ask for in a stay. Host even left a carton of juice in the fridge for us, which was a nice touch. Would highly recommend 👍

NetherlandsThe stair to the apartment was challenging with our heavy suitcases. Living room was cozy but a bit small for a family. Beds were comfortabel and clean but they made noise when you turn around.
It was a pleasure to arrive in this nice apartment in the Old Town. From the Pile gate where the taxi dropped us it was a 10 min walk to the apartment and then a high stair up but once up it was very comfortable, clean, cozy and it had all the amenities that we needed. The landlord was super friendly and so welcoming and responded really quick on all questions we had. We have very enjoyed our stay!

CanadaThe hot water tank was broken for our entire stay and so the water was absolutely freezing which obviously made for very uncomfortable showers. A discount should have been offered as such.
