Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe apartment's host graciously escorted us from the taxi to the apartment, taking the time to thoroughly address all of our inquiries with meticulous attention to detail. Giving us tips for the best locations and restaurants Split has to offer. Our stay at the Heart of Palace Apartment was truly unforgettable, offering a perfect blend of history, culture, and excitement in the heart of Split. From the captivating beauty of Diocletian's Palace to the breathtaking vistas of Krka National Park and the adrenaline of the Marathon Split 2024, every moment was filled with adventure and discovery. This apartment provides the ideal retreat for exploring all that Split has to offer. I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to experience the magic of Croatia in style. Perched amidst the labyrinthine streets of Diocletian's Palace, the apartment enjoys a privileged position at the heart of Split's historic center. From here, guests can easily explore the city's vibrant squares, bustling markets, and ancient monuments, soaking in the rich tapestry of Split's cultural heritage. Whether wandering through the palace's storied corridors or venturing out to discover the nearby coastline, every corner of Split invites exploration and discovery. The comfortable beds offer a welcome respite after a day of sightseeing, while the inclusion of both heating and air conditioning ensures optimal comfort throughout the year. Despite its historic setting, the apartment boasts modern amenities. One of the apartment's highlights is its charming balcony, offering sweeping views of Split's picturesque skyline. Though a few stairs must be climbed to reach the apartment, the panoramic vistas of the surrounding palace walls and bustling streets below make the ascent well worth it.

GermanyNothing. The only problem may be for people with mobility issues to get up and down the stairs, otherwise there is nothing we didn’t like.
Our family loved this apartment! The owners are so kind and helpful. They helped with the luggage, parking and gave excellent recommendations for food and activities. The apartment looks exactly like the pictures and was very clean and comfortable. The little details and history of the apartment are great. Perfect location inside the palace. It was magical and we are so happy we stayed here.

United KingdomThe apartment was great and met our needs as a family. It was great for our teenage girls to have two separate rooms. The beds were comfy and the location was superb, within the city walls but very close to the bus station and port. We would definitely recommend it!

United KingdomThe property was amazing for us. We wouldn’t change anything however I would probably say not suitable for anyone with any significant mobility issues due to the stairs.
The property was a perfect location. Well equipped with a lovely balcony which was a great place to have a drink and enjoy the view. The host was extremely helpful, advising us on some wonderful places to eat that served local produce. Also giving some amazing tips including ferry trips and one of the highlights of the trip, listening to live music in the Palace Square. The air conditioning in the flat was very welcome even in September.

BrazilThere nothing to complain besides that there is only one bathroom (which has plenty of space by the way). As we were in 4 it was an issue sometimes but it did not impact our great positive opinion regarding the property. Also there is no elevator to bring up the bags.
We were extremely well received by a very kind madam (forgot her name). She met us near the Cathedral (after very precise instructions), showed us the ways to to apartment (inside the ruins - which is amazing, very beautiful) and showed every detail of the apartment. Everything in the apartment were working and the balcony has an amazing view to Split Riva. Really recommend the property.

United StatesThere are quite a few steps up to the apartment with no lift, so anyone who has mobility issues should be mindful of that. They did provide us with assistance bringing our luggage up and down the stairs which was very much appreciated!
This apartment is very well appointed and in a great location within the walls of Diocletian's Palace. It is a close walk to everything but far enough removed to also be very quiet. The view over the port is spectacular and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the mornings to take it all in. The apartment provides an authentic experience but also comfortable accommodations with good air conditioning. The host was very friendly and helpful in providing us with recommendations and information on the area.

United StatesNothing, it was perfect. The highlight of our 3 week vacation.
The location was primo. Right near the Palace but not in the middle of things so wasn't noisy (we could hear the church bells if we had windows open but I enjoyed the sounds). Was great to be able to do laundry. A/C was great. Lots of space for our family of 4 to spread out and have some privacy. Host had great recommendations for restaurants.

This apartment is probably the nicest apartment i have ever rented online. I was recently remodeled - a lot of power outlets (not so common), new windows and shutters - no street noises, in the heart of the palace in deed, stunning views, private location and close to everything. absolutely perfect. it is a 4 story walk up but stairs were well lighted.

GermanyWe loved being on the top floor but beware there are 3 flights of stairs to navigate.
Beautiful apartment with plenty of room within the walls of Diocletian’s Palace. The central location didn’t mean it was loud - on the contrary it was very quiet. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well outfitted, the balcony was a lovely bonus. The bathroom is small but practical. The apartment is lovingly decorated. Vlado welcomed us warmly, carried our bags up the stairs and showed us where the best restaurants, bakery and supermarkets were. Thank you so much for that - it was really appreciated. I would highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment is amazing - it’s large and beautifully furnished and the balcony is perfect for watching the sunset over the rooftops. We loved everything about our stay. The hosts were incredibly helpful and welcoming and we appreciated the tips on cafes and restaurants to try. The only challenge is finding it - it’s tucked away right inside the palace, and that was part of its charm!

SpainThe apartment itself is way better than in the pictures, which definitely helped to exceed our expectations and made it a dream apartment for a long weekend away. It's a big cozy apartment in the heart of the city, close enough to everything but at the same time in a very quiet corner ( we could not hear at all noise during the night). It's super nice arranged inside mixing a bit of modern furniture with old one, lovely! The beds are deffo super comfy :) The landlord provides us with plenty of nice suggestions, especially restaurants, highly appreciated! Do not forget to enjoy the amazing view from the balcony, at the golden hour the view is priceless !!! For sure a place to stay in Split and get the vibe of the city !!!
