How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We couldn't fault anything.
We arrived early and there was a contact number on the door. We sent a text and within a few minutes Ana came to us and got us checked in. She was very pleasant and gave us info on things to do and answered any questions we had. The accommodation is close to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff were amazing and helpful. They also kept the place clean and arranged a taxi for us to and from the airport which was very kind of them and was a fair price. Mostly they are so central we could walk to any place in Split. I hope to go back there again.

It’s a great place to stay. We made the mistake of driving. The streets are narrow in the old town and little parking. The owner actually walked out into the town and found us and led us back to our room. Now that’s service!!
In the middle of everything, the house is near the water, near Diocletians Palace, near many restaurants. The owners are warm and friendly and helpful.

We had internet issues on day 1, but it was resolved as soon as we raised it to Greg.
Greg was an incredible host who was responsive to our requests, needs, and concerns! The location itself was probably 11/10, couldn’t get any better. Highly recommend Villa Varoš!

Everyithing was perfect
Host was very accomodating, for which we are grateful for. Hotel is located on a quite road in the middle of old town, so can walk anywhere.

Booking.com pictures were misleading as to exactly what to expect for the room.

Charming and quiet location in heart of Split old town with no passing traffic. Very comfortable beds with all essential amenities. Useful lock-up room for storing luggage. Friendly and helpful proprietor.

If you have a car, parking might be challenging. Taxi had to drop us off a short distance away.
Location is good. Gregory, the owner, very kind. Very responsive. Extremely clean facility. Comfortable bed. Gave us toothbrushes when airline lost our luggage.

The owner. He made us feel special, gave us an excellent restaurant tip and provided valuable assistance for a medical problem. And the property is well located - just a short stroll to the historic centre, restaurants and the waterfront.

The owner was very helpful and kind. The room was so clean, beautiful and quiet. It was very safe and so well organised with everything you could need in the room. .. hairdryer, kettle, coffee, tea…It is very close to the sea and centre. And really quaint as described. I liked the way they put eg a notice don’t smash the door to help remember be considerate for other guests.

Excellent location in small neighbourhood right next to old town. Five minute walk to Diocletian’s palace. Apartment itself is light filled and comfortable. Outdoor terrace a real bonus. Gregory and Anna are perfect hosts.

My husband would have liked a coffee machine or cafetiere!
The apartment was comfortable , clean and spacious in a fa tasting location near to historical sites and restaurants. The terrace was wonderful. Gregory is a kind and helpful host. Restaurant Cicibela at the bottom of the street is fab!

The room was very small and would be quite tight for two people. I was a solo traveler so it was okay. As others have said the floors do squeak and walls appear thin. But the good air conditioning does drown out any noise. Had no trouble sleeping.
The hosts were fantastic and the restaurant that they recommended Fratelli's gives you 20% discount. And the food is fantastic Pizza is good and the tuna steak is wonderful. Location of the hotel is quiet and near the Riva.
