How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was so perfect! The team was amazing and consisted of such nice and professional people. We had dinner twice during our stay and it was the best we've had in a long time. The breakfast was also really great. We arrived too early, but within twenty minutes our room was ready, which we really appreciated! I also want to mention I was pleasantly surprised that they made the bed and cleaned the room right after the first night. Don't hesitate to choose this hotel. Thank you so much for an amazing stay! ✌️🌈

Walls are quite thin and you can hear barely everything.
We had a great experience staying at the Lignum hotel. Clean, comfy and spacious room with a huge balcony. We were travelling with our son and he was very happy to receive special kids cosmetics in the room! Decent breakfast and very deliciouis dinner in their bistro. Free parking, only 10 minutes walk to the cave bath.

Very clear and dutiful rooms, quite comfortable and big. The breakfast and dinner were great!Very welcoming and attentive staff. They help us with all our questions and help with the taxi. The bath caves were very close. We spent the perfect time.

The eggs at breakfast are cold. There's boo shampoo, only some weird-looking kind of soap.

Very few parking spaces. If there were more guests, there would be no place to park.
Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and cosy. The food in the bistro downstairs was amazing

Some early morning construction noise outside as they rebuilt the sidewalks nearby.
Breakfast was excellent. Hearty with a selection of hot and cold. Included eggs, debreceni sausages, cheeses, fruits, bread, Lecsó, ratatouille, ... Well-staffed and accomodating. Palacsinta made on request. Fueled me well for a long hike in the hills. Restaurant served excellent local dishes on a nice terrace. Super clean. It met my mother's exacting standards, which is rare. Nice and close to baths and hills. Very quiet most of the time.

Very helpful staff and great location (vicinity of baths). Rooms with huge terrace are worth attention - great views over the town and lots of space to enjoy.

Despite the quite big room the space between the bed and desk was pretty narrow.
Good location, nice staff, modern furniture. Delicious breakfast. Excellent restaurant that worth to visit without staying in the hotel as well.

The heating was a surprise, rooms are heated using AC-only. Therefore, the bathroom was definitely cold, and during the night it was some background noise because of the AC running intermittently. Hotel parking was not enough for all guests.
Very good location close to the thermal baths. The breakfast is diverse with plenty options to choose from and the staff was exceptional, everyone that we interacted with speaks perfect English. Rooms were clean and furniture was nice, almost new.

A new and nice hotel, conveniently located in a walking distance from the Cave baths. Very good breakfast, decent restaurant in the hotel. Highly recommended.

If accomodation faces backward on second floor, heatpump operation on third floor/roof may feel noisy for somebody sensitive for such distant helicopter noise. Beds are a too soft for my taste.
The hotel seems quite new. Rooms are modern, comfortable and clean. Breakfast offers great variety, the restaurant has tasty dishes. Parking space is available on the property and in front. Staff is very helpful.
