Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNot much of a vibe and pretty basic setup but there are heaps of cool places down on the beach to hang. Lots of stairs and quite difficult to find when we arrived at night.
Amazing view and location. Good value for the price.

AustraliaThe walk (with bags and surfboards) was an absolute mission!!! I read reviews about the stairs but they really are hard cos you go all the way to the bottom of the beach, walk across the rocks/broken reef then back up to get there. But great view and not too $$
Amaaaaazing views here!! Rooms were nice with lots of storage and open bathroom.

AustraliaStaff were friendly but definitely lacked hospitality skills. No real check in routine which left us feeling a bit lost at the start. But warmed up towards the end. Stairs weren’t to bad, definitely unsuitable if you have trouble exercising.
Nice and quiet but close to all the bars on the beach. Coffee was really good and staff were friendly. Accommodation was clean and tidy for a beach shack vibe.

EstoniaA lot of steps to and from the hotel. Not goot to travel with a suitcase. Porter is available. This hotel is definitely a workout.
We really liked the views and sea views. Food was really good and they had option for two separate beds which were super comfy!

SingaporeThe number of steps to reach the compound was obscene. It was difficult to climb the rocks with all the luggage. Luckily they had porters at a fee but the climb up was still strenuous.
The food was good and the view was spectacular

NetherlandsThe route to and from the property was not ideal. Definitely don’t recommend people with physical challenges to stay here. If you wanted to go anywhere you’d have to go up a lot of stairs and in the hot weather it was sometimes very hard. There were also multiple bugs in my room, which was fine cause staff removed them from my room. The roof seemed a bit moldy but i don’t know if that was mold or just wet patches.
The view was beautiful, you could see the sunset beautifully from the terrace. The staff were very friendly and helpful aswell.

AustraliaThere was a bad smell coming from the drain. This was quickly attended to by the staff and the problem was resolved within a day. The staff are on to any concerns you may have and are great at fixing any issues you may have. Thank you. There needs to be more signs on the way down along the stairs to the location. It is very hard to find if you have never been there before.
We love Impossible Cliff House. The location is at the end of Bingin Beach. Be prepared for a long trek down and up the stairs along the Cliff. We really like this, and think it is worth the trek. There are porters to help you with your bags (Rp. 50.000 per bag). The room was comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed spending time at Impossible Cliff House. It is a quiet and relaxed environment. The Cliff House is a unique place on bingin beach. We have stayed there 2 times.

SingaporeThe climbing up and down of steep steps. Getting the helpful staff to carry your luggages over would be highly suggested. On our first night, there was a black out so no electricity for at least 3-4 hours before it went back up again although that was an honest accident and couldn’t be helped. Staff could have brought a mobile fan replacement since the AC wasn’t working then. The AC was leaking profusely. Staff tried to fix it but to no avail. At least it worked during most of our stay to keep the room cool against the heat. Oh and you bathe with Salt water so please buy your own bottled water to brush your teeth and wash your face. The property itself was poorly maintained and not properly cleaned overall. Be mindful that there’s an additional 2-3% charge for card payments. Please don’t overlook the rest of the reviews by other guests and do your own due dilligence. Book and stay at your own risk.
Literally paying for the views. Spacious balcony. Restaurant food.

ColombiaTo get there you need to walk down many steps to get to the beach and then walk along the beach to get to the hotel and up steps, that was q little hard. We arrived at the night and we didn’t find the hotel because there was no good signage and lighting.

AustraliaMake sure to read the information before arriving! I didn't read it and I got dropped off in the incorrect place with no wifi and had to get my luggage and self up many stairs and there wasn't much direction. I would suggest asking in advance for someone to help you with your luggage when you arrive. It was very difficult getting to the cliffhouse itself and I would only recommend this property for people who are fit and have no accessibility issues.
The room was huge and very beautiful! I ended up staying here for a rest day whilst I was travelling around Bali. It was a great place just to sit up in the restaurant area and watch the waves which we're practically outside of your room. Staff were super nice as well.

AustraliaAs mentioned, you need to go down about 200 steps as the hotel is at the beach. If you are fit enough and don’t struggle with keeping your balance, it will be manageable. For my mother it was a challenge as the steps were uneven and at times quite difficult to do. Because the steps are very difficult, we needed to pay the guys at the hotel for bringing our luggage up and down (50.000RP per luggage).
The staff was very nice and the rooms were tidy, spacious and clean. Food was delicious aswell. Nice to have a beach right outside and lovely sea views in rooms and lobby.

United KingdomThe only access to the venue is down hundreds of narrow steep stone steps. There is no other way of getting into and out of the hotel you have to sweat and ache to get to the top before you go anywhere! Also after a few beers in town navigating the stairs (especially the uneven ones across the side of the cliff!) Is a challenge. Make sure you pre arrange to have your suitcases/luggage carried down the stairs on arrival and for when you check out. We picked the hotel due to the location by the beach- but it's still more rocky stairs down to the beach and the beach has lots of coral in the shallow water so wear reef shoes.
The view from the room Friendly staff

IndonesiaIve been to Bingin multiple times, but this location is particulary difficult because on top of the hundreds of stairs down you have to go back up to reach the place. But their porter can actually help with your bag with reasonable cost.
Literally by the beach, the room was spacious. The food was yummy, i can even say one of the best option in the area.
