Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesNo warm water in the shower.
Suzanne and her team were very welcoming and helpful. The location is very central and close to the Senggigi center. Got a free room upgrade. The room and bed are comfortable and the compound itself is very peaceful

GermanyCold shower 😏 but it's fine when it's really hot outside
Beautiful garden around, the room was nicely decorated and the bathroom outside with shower all good. The owner helped me with booking a flight and a very cheap shuttle bus, scooter rental for a good price with good suggestions. It's very relaxing and close to shops and the beach.

SpainThe room doesn’t have toilet and shower. It was a bit annoying all the time going to the toilet. Shower didn’t have hot water, it was warm outside anyway.
The place was cozy and the atmosphere there was really peaceful. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Warung, restaurants and supermarket near by. 40 min away from Bangsal harbour. The staff and the owner were lovely

United KingdomThe only downside was that I was ripped off in Bangsai by a guy called Efull, who claimed to know the family and seemed very familiar with where it was. Even asked me to take his photo to show them. However it seems he only vaguely knew the late husband. He gave me the impression it was not easy to get shuttles and to book a private taxi. He was very persuasive and eventually agreed a price for a private taxi to Kuta Lombok and then a private taxi back to Bangsai. However I did not get the private taxi and instead had a shuttle bus pick me up. I only just managed to squeeze in. When I later queried this with him, he said we had agreed shuttle but would be private car to pick me up. We hadn’t. Then when I wanted to be collected from Kuta, he said private taxi not possible and he was cooling. A car did pick me up and the driver said it was the shuttle, as collecting three other separate people. It was rather a squeeze in the back as only meant for two people. The middle one was sat over a gap. Basically I was put on a shuttle both times , which would have been much cheaper than a taxi but charged more than double the shuttle price. Do avoid Efull Tour & Travel, as I am sure I am not the only one scammed by him. Other than that my stay at Indah was great and I would definitely stay there again, if I come back to Lombok.
Indah homestay was just perfect. The owner and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. It is set in lovely gardens, with nice scenery all around, making it the perfect place to relax in. I was fortunate to be given an upgrade, which I very much appreciated. The room looked amazing and extremely clean and tidy. There were also plenty of plug points, including one outside the room. And breakfast pancakes were the best option and were delicious. It is in a very good location, as far enough away from the traffic to avoid any noise, yet close enough to the sea. It is not much more than a five minute walk to the nearest very good snorkelling beach, where you access the sea down a tiered wall. Kind of like huge steps but easily done. Just over half-way along is best. Plenty of coral and fish to see. There are plenty of other nice beaches in both directions and you can always walk up into the hills, for some spectacular views. I stayed an extra day but in some ways wished I had stayed longer.

Very friendly staff and even got a free upgrade as they were quiet during low season. The outdoor shower was a bonus and a very good bed!

Very beautiful garden with nice places to sit and hang out. Nice terrace with the room and two fans inside! The staff was super friendly and helpful. One of the guys gave us a ride multiple times so wouldn’t have to walk. The owner gave us a bunch of Swedish books to take.

United KingdomThe shower pressure was really bad for our private shower, the communal shower was a little better though, but not great, it was good enough though if you took the shower head out of the holder and held it closer to your body. That's pretty much the only real negative. If I was being overly picky, the fan in our room was adequate at keeping us cool, ideally we would have had two fans or air con, but we knew going in we didn't book somewhere with aircon so it feels bad to put that down as a negative.
Everything about the place was close to perfect, if you ask me. The rooms were clean, and ours had a private bathroom. The garden that all the rooms connected to was nice with places to sit and chat to other guests, we even managed to do some yoga in the morning on the grass. The breakfast options were good (pancake with chocolate spread was particularly nice) and they also had cheap food options for other times of the day available too. The staff were all lovely, especially the owner, Suzanne, who was very chatty and easy to get along with. She did our laundry and even took special requests to wash shoes and a stuffed animal. The location was pretty good too, only a short walk from the beach and lots of restaurants, atms, etc.

Some other traveller had recommended Indah Homestay and it did not disappoint. It is well set back from the busy main road hence very quiet. The garden compound felt peaceful. The unit was well appointed. I was particularly happy about the kettle in the room for my very early morning coffee. The staff were extremely helpful with getting us shuttle bus and ferry tickets to the Gilis and helping us find out how much credit there still was on our Indonesian SIM card. Susanne, the owner, had put together a folder with her own favourite places on Lombok, which is worth looking at before you do your own planning.

IndonesiaThe washroom was not super clean. (e g. The sink, the soap holder in the wall by the shower, etc. Really easy to clean these things. Would make such a big difference!) There was a little window in the large hotel next door which looked down into my washroom. If someone were looking through it, I'm sure they could see me showering! The outdoor washroom idea is lovely, but this is a problem.
The staff were very friendly, helpful, and kind. 😊 I was able to do laundry upon arrival, which was ready the next morning. This was really convenient since I was only there for one night. I was given a free upgrade which was very much appreciated and which made it a good value for the money. (Not sure if I would have felt that way if I were in a different room.) Suzanne was very kind and helped me get to my next destination, which I really, really appreciated. Thank you very much again. 🙏🏿🙏🏾🙏🏽

United KingdomCould be better signposted as a little tricky to find. Communal bathroom is full of giant ants which shouldn’t be a problem to keep on track of.
I’m trying to ignore the fact I HATED senggigi and not take it out on the hostel. So the room was pretty clean. The fan was effective (if a little noisy) Owners are lovely I didn’t have breakfast but looked good They sorted my washing for me
