Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWhat a beautiful place! The most beautiful view of our trip through SE Asia. We made a very nice trek through this beautiful landscape with our children. The staff is extremely friendly and enthusiastic which made the stay even better. In the restaurant you can enjoy a delicious meal and the view.

MadagascarI guess it would have been nice to have some sort of door net so that I could open the door and let some fresh air in, because I couldn't really due to bugs that might have gotten inside the room. But overall, I had a good time at Morinda villa and resto.
I loved the view from my room. If you want some peace of mind and love the sound of birds and rooster in the morning, Morinda is the place to be. I loved watching the sunrise while being in my bed and the room was quite cozy.

FranceNot that i didnt like but to take into consideration : - To go to anyplace in east Sumba from Morinda implies going back to Waingapu first (about 20min one way). - No mobile Internet in the resort. They provide wifi that works fairly in the restaurant but was on and off in the rooms.
Very nice view. The owner and the staff are super nice and helpful. Comfortable rooms.

NetherlandsAll was well. Nothing to complain. Besides the price. But that's just the market at Sumba for more comfortable 'western' style accomodation.
Amazing view, good food, well equipped comfortable room. Friendly staff. Timely pick up at the airport. Helpful in planning and assisting in our onward journey. Stunning place to land !

LithuaniaThe villa is full of mosquitoes as the walls have many holes, but they have anti mosquito spray, which helped in some extent. Also a net over the bed. The location is quite far from everything so you definitely need a car or scooter to go around.
The villa is located on a beautiful hill. You can just sit in the balcony and relax all day long. Accommodation is clean, providing water refill, so you so not need to buy plastic bottles. They have a restaurant there with delicious food. Breakfast was amazing as well. The staff very friendly.

AustraliaQuiet place, wooden authentic villa with a balcony facing the hills and river. Everyday, we got a beautiful sunrise view. The staff is very helpful, especially Ina the reception lady. She helped me to book the motor bike and arrange my transfer to the west sumba. She also shared some tips for the destinations we need to visit in East Sumba. The food is amazing. Simple but tasty and make us full. Thank you for the hospitality 😊

Morinda is located in the beautiful hills near Wiangapu what gives an incredible view. The staff is very friendly and tries to help you as much as possible. They also arrange facilities, we stayed for two nights, one morning we went on the morning kayak tour and the next day we went sunrise trekking through the hills. The food in the restaurant was good!

ItalyF&B - improvable, especially in the dessert department and beverages (some wine or other options). Room - quite basic, which we were ok with given the unique setting. But bear this in mind. Sunrise kayak - while it was a great experience, it was definitely too short. Its likely ~30mins of Kayaking total, we'd expect it to be at least 1hr or anyway know before-hand that it will be this short.
Staff - Freddy & his family were great all along, supportive and informative about local traditions & experiences. Views & location - after visiting waterfalls, beaches, cliffs etc, it was great to be in this alternative location with amazing views of the Wairinding hills and river. Sunrise kayak - amazing views, incredible peace, fantastic start to the day. Breakfast - rich and with a nice view.

Great views! The small villas all have a balcony and I could just sit there forever. I also liked the village life leading up to Morinda. It is great to motorbike around. Although English of the staff was a bit limited they helped us perfectly with a cheap taxi to West Sumba.

GermanyWe loved everything about our stay at Morinda. The room was really nice, spotless clean, and came with an extravagant view over the mountains and river! The beds were so comfy, there’s AC, wifi and warm water. The staff was extremely friendly and always helpful, and the family who owns and runs Morinda was amazing. They gave us so many useful tips and made sure our stay was just perfect. Great location too with tons of things to do (hiking, kayaking, visiting weaving and other villages, waterfalls, beaches…). Only a 20 min drive to town, but really peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend staying at Morinda for a stay in the area/ Waingapu.

NetherlandsThere is no wifi in the bungalows, but there is in the restaurant. The whole region suffered from a power problem (nothing you can do about that) so that was a bit difficult but the staff arranged battery powered lamps for all of the guests and started up a generator.
Off course the views, the dogs, the silence, the mountains. The bigger bungalows with good beds and terrace are lovely. The staff is young and helpful. While there was no power and no moon, we (guests and staff) all went out to watch the stars and the milkyway... magical.

The view is so breathtaking. The staff are nice and funny. Food is top-notch. So quiet and calm. Two sweet dogs, Batman and Tuway who will follow you along the way. Bed is comfortable. Taking a morning boat down the river to enjoy the sunrise and scenery is highly recommended activity in Morinda.
