Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

In the space of 3 nights, this place & family hold a very special place in my heart. Mu is an inspirational leader for his community & paves a way for tourism in Tetebatu. I learnt ALOT!! Explored Nature & the area with Eddi - which was really helpful as a solo traveller. Not to mention beautiful. I equally rested, enjoyed the sounds of nature, prayer & sang with the guys most evenings. The accommodation is really gorgeous too. With gorgeous sunrises over the palms & views of Rinjani mountain.

GermanyNothing. We recommend it to everyone and would come back any time
We loved everything about our stay. Mr. Mu built a beautiful place with two great, spatious and comfortable Bungalows in a wonderful environment amidst rice fields. The food was the best Indonesian food we had on our 4 week Holidays, everything was just delicious. The very best part of our stay was the super kind, welcoming people we met and the tours and activities we made with them (especially given that we rarely do guided tours in General). We learned how to do coconut oil, roast Coffee and had a great half-day tour with rice fields, a waterfall and black Monkeys. We had so much fun and learned so much about Life in Lombok. If we had more time we would have loved to extend our stay. Super recommended and THANKS a lot to everyone we met!

Mu Homestay is by far the best option for your stay in Tetebatu! Mu will arrange the tour that fits best for you with experienced and caring guides. The bungalow is very clean, the staff is INCREDIBLE and the food is excellent. I had a meeting for work and Mu arranged a seperate wifi network so I could have a stable connection. Their hospitality is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Big thanks to Mu, Ryan, Andy & Eddy and all the other amazing people.

AustraliaBe prepared for prayer being loudly broadcasted from the mosque 5 times per day with one of those times bring 4am in the morning. It doesn’t last all that long and is just part of experiencing another culture.
Staying here is about experiencing how another culture lives. It’s about opening your mind and heart to a different way of life. MU has paved the way for tourism in his village and we were honoured to experience the rituals of coffee making, coconut oil and seeing the process of dying, weaving and making sarongs from scratch. MU is articulate and smart, breaking the cycle of severe poverty to put himself through university and make a better life for generations to come. You seriously could just go here for the stories. These beautiful people don’t have much but they share everything they have. The food is divine as is the hospitality. The scenery…rice fields, waterfall and mountain are picturesque. This is not about luxury travel…it’s personable, raw, kind and thought provoking.

Mu Homestay is the best Homestay we visited in Indonesia. It is a family owned business where you experience Lombok family lifestyle in the beautiful surroundings of Tetebatu. The rooms are very clean and facilities are perfect, you will feel at home. Mu and his family took us to trip to the rice fields (off the beaten track, we have seen people plant and harvest rice), to various waterfalls with tracks trough the jungle and to different villages where they make handmade sarongs, bamboo baskets and potteries. Mr. Mu is the nicest person you will meet, with his family he has build an incredible business. Not to forget about the food which is incredibly fresh and very good also proper local Indonesian options. This was the highlight of our trip!

SingaporeThis is not really a complaint but it will be great if Mu can install nails or hooks in the room for guests to hang clothes. Also, this is not a place for light sleeper as you can hear early morning Muslim prayer broadcast. This is not a problem for my wife and I (and I think for most people) as we fell asleep very early in this quiet place.
For the price, breakfast was good. There is a selection from pancake, omelette egg to fried rice and fried noodle with fresh fruit juice and fresh fruits (some from the garden!). The room is big and clean. The ambience is serene as it is in the midst of paddy field yet near main road. The owner, Mu, is friendly and hospitable and the staff are attentive and helpful. Mu Homestay is same as what you see in the website. For those of you who enjoy peace and tranquility, this is the right place for you.

United StatesNot a single thing to complain about.
The location, in the mountains. The family style gatherings with Mu his family and other guests. Learning the way of life from them. We learned how to make coconut oil from scratch. We went on walks through the rice fields, forest, and waterfalls. Everything was so inclusive and we felt like part of the family. We arrived as guests and left as family. . Do not pre book excursions until you talk to Mr Mu! Oh and be sure to have a bonfire cookout too so amazing!
