I enjoyed meeting our host Jerry and learning about the sites in Sligo. Castledale is spectacular: the grounds are beautiful, the decor and rooms are opulent. There is a billiards room and entertainment room that provides a nice place to unwind and relax.

I had no idea of the grandeur we were about to experience as we drove through the gates of Castledale estate. Our living area on the top floor was 6 star and beyond any accommodation I've stayed in before. Our host was there to welcome us and ensure that we could enjoy the TV theatre, pool room, gardens and breakfast in the morning. Castledale is highly recommended if you're staying in Sligo.

My mother said she wished she had a wash cloth.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious! We had a little yogurt parfait with berries and granola. We ordered a ham and cheese omelet, as well. We loved our bath tub and shower! The room was very clean and well put together. My mother and I would definitely recommend others to stay at Castledale! Gerry, his wife, and puppy (Jesse James) were all so sweet and incredibly helpful. Gerry went out of his way to help us with any questions or issues we had. Thank you for everything!

This accommodation greatly exceeded our expectations. We had booked a standard room but were upgraded to the penthouse. I was gobsmacked! The space was at least 5000 square feet, with a sunken living room and balcony overlooking the well-manicured and expansive grounds; another living room with a big screen TV; an enormous bar area; and a spacious dining area. The separate bedroom was larger than those in luxury hotels, and the bed was firm and comfortable with first rate linens. The bathroom, with separate toilet area, was sparkling clean and large, and the towels were super luxurious. The host Gerry was personable and helpful.

We did have a little trouble with the high tech light switches.

Gerry stayed late to welcome us. Because of a cancellation, he upgraded us to a fabulous room. We enjoyed the gorgeous grounds, super comfortable facility, and the other guests at breakfast. Gerry knew exactly what the area attractions were and what would work well for us. He went our of his way to make sure we were informed and comfortable, and his advice was first rate! Castledale is a small hotel and breakfast was extra. While we couldn't eat that much food on a regular basis it was delicious. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

We booked last minute for a weekend away, which we were happily surprised by an upgrade to the penthouse on arrival. The apartment was absolutely stunning and the views of the garden from the balcony were gorgeous. The host was so helpful with carrying our bags as well as giving us recommendations for our trip. Plus the breakfast was a 10/10. Highly recommend staying here if visiting Sligo.

We only stayed one night.

Set in a lovely big grassed garden, with trees and a pond, the house looked fantastic and lived up to the looks. The husband and wife who ran the Castledale were lovely,, super helpful, charming and very informative. They effectively planned our first day along the Wild Atlantic Way, and did a superb job. Breakfast was marvellous, all local produce, the room comfortable and well appointed and the house itself pretty much idyllic. The town centre was a 10 minute car ride away, and also great. And the recommended restaurant again really good.

Loves it all!

The host was more than accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. Jerry helped plan out our day of touring, including places we would not have found in a travel guide. Breakfast was delicious, mattresses were excellent and the space was beautiful.

Stunning guest house,, beautiful room comfortable bed great bathroom. Superb breakfast. Home theatre room, Billiards room, beautiful gardens and an amazing outdoor Gazebo where you can enjoy a coffee and serenity. Gerry the host and his wife are the nicest people which makes the stay so much more pleasant. Great parking short walk to a local pub or a slightly longer walk into Sligo.

Castledale was an outstanding property set in such a special part of Sligo, our room was fantastic and we had a great comfy sleep after experiencing the Northern Lights! Gerry our host could not have been more helpful and attentive with good advice to enhance our stay.

From the property to the owner to the service this place is top notch 5 stars. The owner gave us some amazing recommendations of things to see and thankfully warned us off a few places I had on my list that were a disaster waiting to happen! We had some major delays in getting to Castledale but the owner couldn't have been more gracious in accommodating us!

Kitchen lacked sharp cutting knives; cutting board; towels. Dishware and cutlery were minimal.

Fabulous estate home set in magnificent 6 acre country property only short drive from Sligo. We stayed in the Penthouse apartment which has gorgeous views of surrounding mountains. Apartment was spotlessly clean; has two sitting areas; dining area; dish ware ; small kitchen with, coffee pod machine; microwave and frig; and a wonderful balcony to sit out and enjoy the views. Gerry was a kind host who greeted us upon arrival and carried our bags up the two flights of stairs to the penthouse. He was very helpful with sightseeing suggestions. We took advantage of several beautiful forest and lake walks during our stay which featured peaceful and beautiful settings around woods; lakes and mountains. The area is all about nature and you can't beat what County Sligo has to offer.
