Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere were no additional linens or pillows for the sofa bed, nor was there any body wash. Housekeeping was not able to provide for us either. Instructions to enter the unit were also incorrect - the key was left in a box not aligned with the room number we were given, and the room number we were given was not the room we were able to get into. Also, we understood that it's a very busy, prime area, in a very old building but the street noise was very loud, so don't forget your earplugs.
PERFECT LOCATION!! Very cute space in the heart of EVERYTHING you would want to walk to within the city. The bed was comfy and the apartment was very cute in a super old, charming building.

United StatesCould have had a couple more rolls of toilet paper!
The suite was very clean and comfortable. The days the cleaning staff came in were nice. The location was absolutely excellent. Having a 2 bedroom suite and living area made our stay wonderful.

NorwayApt was right on a very busy street, so very noisy - both day and night. Noisy air vent directly outside the bedroom vindow kept us awake. The interior doors were very heavy and would shut close with a bang. Probably due to fire regulations, but annoying having to open and close doors every time I walked between rooms. Dangerous for small children’s fingers… Lots of drunken people everywhere, and saw people vomiting outside the pubs. Temple Bar would probably not the be best area for families with children.
Right in the middle of Temple Bar, very convenient for pubs and restaurants. Walking distance to shopping, sights and attractions. Large, light and modern apartment. Fully equipped kitchen and Apartment was spotlessly clean!

IrelandI needed a place to stay in Dublin city centre and found this gorgeous option in the heart of Dublin city centre. Great view to Dublin Castle and the best location for who is visiting Dublin, very comfortable, spacious, modern, cozy and clean apartment, with all the facilities I needed. The price was also great for what it offers. Definitely, it's my new choice every time I have to visit Dublin.

United StatesAnyone booking should know there are floor to ceiling windows that are not fully covered so the entire apartment is fully lit up all night from the lights in the street. You MUST bring ear plugs and eye cover. No air and too noisy outside to keep the windows open. Would recommend ceiling fans. No outlet in bathroom and although there is an under-sink cabinet it would be nice to have at least one shelf to put bathroom items on. Heavy doors on kitchen and bathroom that are dangerous and slam shut on you. We were fine with no elevator but the stairs are very narrow so might be difficult for families with young children or elderly.
Location was excellent. Very friendly and efficient people handling the booking. Everything was very clean. Great to have a washing machine and we appreciated the cloths drying rack.

United KingdomThe apartment is on the 3rd floor with no elevators which was not advertised. A silly app had to be used to open and lock the door which is very inconvenient. When we struggled to find the apartment (situated on top of a bar) I tried to contact the Host twice telephonically - received no answer and no attempt to call back. Communication was terrible and lugging heavy suitcases up narrow steps was unpleasant to say the least. This should be advertised upfront.
The apartment is nice, spacious and comfortable. The washing machine was a nice bonus.

IcelandThe apartment is in an alley above a bar and across from a very loud poker and strip club. Staying over the weekend meant a lot of noise, fights and screams from the alley until morning. The bedrooms became very hot and because of the noise from the alley it was impossible to open windows. The doors in the apartment are incredibly heavy and all close with strong pumps so that they are impossible to keep open, that makes it difficult to communicate in the apartment. No wifi although it should have been available by the time we came to stay. Trouble with the app to the door, when a later arrival tried the link it had expired and request for a new link went unanswered. So only one guest could access and lock the apartment.
The location is very central, close to restaurants and bars in the old town. It has been renovated to a good standard.
