Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI had a lovely stay at Pearse Lodge. Everything was nice and clean, breakfast was tasty, they were even kind enough to make a cup of decaf coffee for me in the middle of the day. You can take advantage of the free parking and take a short walk to the center of Sligo. I've been travelling Europe for around 8 months and this is one of the best places I've stayed!

SwedenCan't think of anything
We can warmly and wholeheartedly recommend this place where we stayed for a full week. All practical things were simply perfect. The rooms are so so clean, the beds comfortable, and the breakfasts just wonderful. We had planned eating our breakfasts on town but ended up having them at Pearse lodge every day. (The ”full Irish breakfast” is quite extraordinary!) But most of all, Pearse Lodge is as great as it is because of Mary and Kieron, the couple who run the place. They are not just fantastically professional and knowledgeable about the area, but also such warm, welcoming and friendly people. If you go to Sligo, which you should, this is the place to stay!

CanadaNothing it was excellent
I was met at the door by Mary, who was very friendly and chatty and full of information about the local area. She was very welcoming and clearly wanted to make sure that everything was fine for my stay. The room had everything I could have needed and some extra touches, like chocolates on the bed and some chocolate snacks. Care was taken to make things look nice. The room was quiet and comfortable.

IrelandOne of the highlights of our trip in Sligo! The Lodge is in a great location, walking distance to the town. The room was absolutely stunning, neat and had great info booklets for tourists or those new to the area. The host was super helpful, pointing out the hidden gems and must-see spots in town, we will definitely book again the next time we're in Sligo.

AustraliaWe were very impressed with the landlady of this pleasant and comfortable establishment. She couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. She was responsive to our requests, and was most helpful with advice about the town, including tips about finding the best places for music. The Pearse Lodge is clearly efficiently run and the owners deserve praise for making it such a nice place to stay.

IrelandThe hosts were incredibly friendly, very accommodating and extremely helpful, more than you would expect. The lodge was really beautiful, homely and furnished with a lot of love. You can only feel comfortable there. My room was very large with an armchair lounge, a large, very cosy bed. Kettle (with tea, coffee, milk) was provided, as well as glasses, water and even homemade very delicious cookies. There was also an iron and ironing board. The bathroom was also super nice, very clean and several towels, cotton pads, and soap, shampoo and shower gel were all there. Everything was super clean and several towels, cotton pads, and soap, shampoo and shower gel were all there. Everything was super clean and very well maintained. On arrival, everything was shown very accurately and in detail and patiently, explained and also explained about local restaurants or sights (maps to read everything was provided) - everything more than courteous! The breakfast was excellent! A large selection of delicious dishes from which you could choose. Even at breakfast, nothing was left unfulfilled and, as always, someone was always there to help. Wi-Fi also worked great. The city centre was accessible by a 10-minute walk and bus connections were great. Check-in and check-out was also super easy to handle. Everything was perfect all around, my expectations were more than exceeded. I can only more than recommend the Pearse Lodge. I would have liked to have stayed longer. I can only recommend a stay in this bed and breakfast to everyone!
