Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOnce you book a room, you cannot cancel (or even change) your reservation dates. They do clearly state this policy upfront on their website so just make sure your dates are correct.
Our 2nd stay at The Mont and it won't be our last! The staff at the front desk, restaurant and bar (The Sin Bin) are polite and always helpful. Breakfast (extra cost) is fresh, delicious and there are lots of options. This boutique hotel is modern and beautifully decorated, the rooms are spotless and very nice and there's a great gym on the premises. The Mont in an excellent location; walk to Merrion Square Park (near the home of Oscar Wilde), Temple Bar area, National Gallery of Ireland, Trinity College, restaurants, shopping and so much more. They have a covered, secure parking lot a couple of blocks away which they share with another hotel - it's not free but great to have as an option if you have a car - public transportation is nearby if you don't. The Mont is around the corner from Sweny's Pharmacy, truly a Dublin treasure (circa 1847) which was mentioned in Ulysses. Stop by and say hi to PJ Murphy, (also an Irish treasure) who is one of the volunteers at Sweny's as well as a tour guide. Participate in a reading there if you can, such a wonderful, uniquely Irish experience! If you are interested in anything James Joyce, you will be happy you visited! Looking forward to our next stay at the Mont!

United KingdomThe breakfast was good, but the bacon was soggy and too thickly cut for our liking, I ended up squeezing maple syrup everywhere because the bottle wasn't the easiest to squeeze. Only minor things really, not anything that would prevent us from returning.
The room was nice with everything we needed, the bath was a little on the small side but was really nice all in all.

United StatesNot the hotel's fault. The Dublin Express does not stop by the hotel - as advertised. The Express removed that stop -- the nearest stop is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.
The location was just what we wanted - it was close to all the things that we knew we want to see in Dublin. We are able to walk to everything - the Book of Kells, the museums, the parks, and the Temple Bar area. the staff was very helpful and friendly.

United KingdomThe room decor was ok but felt a bit dated. Unfortunately, our room looked out onto a grotty alleyway where the bins and extractor fans/generator were located (no voile curtains to obscure this view). The room was also far too warm (we visited in winter) and as the extractor fans were below our window, we couldn’t have it open
Great location. The bed was comfy. The main areas of the hotel were nicely decorated. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomLoved everything about this place! Staff were lovely; all so friendly and helpful. Our room was great. Very spacious and light, and although it'd been set up for a king bed, there were no issues when we requested to alter to twin beds (Unfortunately, the request hadn't made its way to the hotel from Booking.com, so not the hotels fault). Beds were very comfortable and the linen was clean; lovely bed to sink into after a long day. It was quiet too, as it's not in the thick of all the action, which was ideal and made for a perfect night's sleep. Fresh towels when needed were left for us and the robes and slippers were a lovely touch - nice to come back to after a long day walking around Dublin! Shower was great too as it was spacious with very good water pressure and consistently hot - This is always a bugbear of mine, as having long, thick hair, a decent shower is rare to come by, but I could not fault the facilities at all. The room was spotless and housekeeping kept on top of this daily and replenished our tea, coffee and milk supplies every day - Loved the coffee machine in our room! Breakfast was gorgeous too, such an array of options, whether you wanted to go healthy or have something more filling from the hot selection (egg preferences accommodated) and all fresh each day. Tea and coffee are made for you upon arrival for breakfast each morning so you're guaranteed a fresh brew. I was very impressed with the honeycomb in the buffet, delightful on top of the granola with fruit and yoghurt. Perfect location if you're looking to explore Dublin as everything is walkable from where the hotel is situated. Hotel staff were very helpful with maps on hand and knowledgeable about the city to point you in the right direction while you get your bearings. Overall, I was really impressed with every aspect and would gladly stay again and recommend to family/friends.

United KingdomThe room was a little cramped. The lighting in the room was very poor and the view from the window was horrible. I couldn't use the safe as it was up high and out of reach. Room would benefit from some drawers to put things in.

United KingdomStorage for clothes was limited, and would have preferred some drawers for clothes on a higher level, also a closed cupboard/wardrobe, rather than just a rail so that clothes were all visible. Also would have liked more solid bedside tables rather than the rather precarious stools.
Location was very good. Room size was good. Staff excellent, helpful and friendly. And the room was well soundproofed, and we were able to sleep well.
