The property was under renovation and with no staff around to assist. It seemed quite messy and left careless.

The self check-in is a great solution. We’ve been given the code to open the room doors the day before so not to wait or queue. Breakfast was good and various.

I think having a front desk would be nice. We could have used help from someone to let us know where all to go sight-seeing, etc. But other than that it was really great! We loved it!

The breakfast was delicious. The room was very well kept. The location was really nice, 5-min walk from the main REK street for tourists with lots of shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay. I would love to come here again. It was great!

Clogged shower drain. Other than cleaning staff, there was no else there. Apparently, the breakfast/food staff were contracted and were unable to answer any questions.

The cleaning staff were really helpful and nice. Room also nice and even better once lowered heat. The breakfast: Delicious!

Pretty much what I expected from a budget hotel. A kettle in the room would have been a big plus!

The room was very hot when we first arrived and was still very warm even after changing the radiator temperature and opening the window. Strangely there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room (not sure if this in an Iceland 'thing' or just this hotel but I'm used to even a budget hotel having a kettle and a cup in the room), it seemed a long way to stumble downstairs in the morning for a coffee and the stuff from the machine was pretty awful.

Check in was straightforward. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and variety. The shower was very good, water a good temperature and very powerful. Bed was comfortable with plenty of bedding. Location is okay - a bit of a walk into the centre but not too far. Hotel and surrounding streets were quiet.

The TV in our room didn’t work, no signal. We didn’t really need the TV anyway so didn’t try and resolve it. The hotel was lacking in facilities information. For example, there was no information on who/how to contact anyone if we needed too or information regarding breakfast.l, how to access laundry/dry cleaning etc. It would be great to have a leaflet of information. Under facilities, there was some misinformation *it states docket next to bed, however this was not the case. *it states there is a wardrobe or closet, again there was none in the room I had. I don’t think the pictures reflected the room that I had. The room was quite dark and the windows were high so couldn’t see outside.

The information before check in, was perfect. Great information regarding parking, along with a video to look. Auto check in was great and so easy. Very handy location and makes the route to the city centre is great. WIFI was great in our room. We only ate breakfast and this was ok. Nothing special really but it was good to have this included. Shower was very powerful. I think it will look great after the refurb.

I missed having at least a fridge and a water boiler for a tea by the room.

Not the hotels fault but there is a lot of construction next door. We didn't know it was a staff free hotel so the front door and rooms are all done with codes so we had to search for emails before getting inside.

The breakfast was good and the location was great for exploring the city on foot, We did have a car and luckily managed to get a spot right outside the hotel.

It's very close to the city centre, but on winter nights, walking 1.2 km in the wind, cold, and snow can be uncomfortable. I made a special request for extra pillows days in advance, but they didn't register my request.

The self-check-in system works perfectly, and the free parking spots nearby are very convenient. The room was comfortable, but although the bathroom was clean, it was not as beautiful as other hotels we've stayed in in Iceland. Notherlights tour picks up from the hotel location. There is a pricy but delicious restaurant downstairs, and there is no need to go out to eat if you are tired.

Not being able to get a decent drink albeit alcoholic or non alcoholic at the end of the day from long excursions due to there not being a lounge area, I personally don't drink coffee which was all there was at the reception area, the coffee machine only dispensed black coffee although there were other selections on the machine they didn't work, and the restaurant kitchen shut at 9pm

The restaurant, food was first class

The bathroom was dated and parts of it broken. Next door there was construction happening (no fault of the hotel) which woke us up and the rooms were very light which didn’t bother me as a heavy sleeper but kept my partner awake

Comfy beds and a big room. Breakfast was good and easily accessible. Nice and close to the centre of the city. Would definitely stay here again and was good for our budget

The hotel operated a person-less check in, where room locks auto- released on a timer. There was a problem with communication so one of the two room numbers we were sent was subsequently changed but we didn’t spot the second email, and it erroneously cited all 3 room numbers. On arrival at the (cancelled) room we obviously couldn’t get in and set off an alarm trying. Another family were having the same problem and it was clearly quite stressful for them as they were a large group with young children. There was a phone number to call with any problems and this was well advertised within communal areas. Once we had gained entry the 2 rooms were adjacent (we had requested nearby so this was excellent) and we had no further issues.

Very clean and comfortable, and only a 10 minute walk to Reykjavik’s main shopping street. Easy to explore the city from the hotel. Perfect for our requirements. We had dinner literally around the corner from the hotel entrance at a delightful restaurant- warm, cosy and relaxed with really attentive friendly staff. The food was exceptional. The next morning it turned out to our surprise this was actually the hotel breakfast room, but it was unclear if it was the same business running it.

Would have liked tea/coffee in room - the machine door stairs didn’t have everything working and there was no tea option. Would be nice to have in the room after a cold day outside. Breakfast - only toast/rolls - maybe a better variety of pastries would be good.
