Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesPillows were uncomfortable. We prefer thicker firm pillows. These were rather thin. Breakfast was not a great value, the waffle maker didn’t actually cook the waffles all the way through, even with extra time.
Loved the location, especially that the botanical gardens were so close. Easy to find. Friendly staff. Rooms were good size, with tons of storage. Bathrooms (we were on the third floor) were incredibly clean and nice. Showers were large and had exceptional water pressure.

Israel4 floors with no elevator - carry your laguage yourself. Smallish room. Only one reading light and one electric socket by the bed. The shared bathrooms has a half stair in the entrance - banged my toe on it hard.
Splendid breakfast with good variety. Big parking space.

SwedenBed was a little hard and the front desk was frequently crowded, having to queue up twice (once to check-in and once to check-out) could have gone smoother. Would prefer to leave the key somewhere in the morning.
Room and shared facilities were clean, the hotel and surroundings were quiet. Loved being close to the botanical gardens and centre of town.

IcelandOrdered a room for two adults and one 11 year old or three person room. Child got a very thin mattress on the floor and woke up with back ache. Also the price booking gave me wasn't correct. Had to pay extra for the awful thin mattress on floor. Am not happy with that and not going back.
I liked the common room and the location.

IcelandI stayed for 4 days and the room had shared bathrooms. The toilets ran out of toiletpaper too often. Very negative to have to ask for refill every day. Should be easy to fix properly. Too much noise from other guests so it would be a good idea to have signs wich signal "quiet hours" at the hotel. People were speaking out loud like they were the only people in the hotel.
Friendly staff and responsive. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Location was great for us because we were attending a football tournament at KA training facilities.

SwitzerlandRoom charges for this basic accommodation are the same as for the Kea or Icelandair Hotel and thus clearly too high.
The continental breakfast was great with a wide choice of food. There is ample parking and the location is not too far from the "city" and next to a Sundlaug. Edda Hotels are basic student residences which is no problem for us.

SpainDont like to go with my family and meet people that are drunk all the day as my neighbours. And as very common situation if you are drunk then you call your neighbours at 04:30 In the morning because you don’t know what is your room. Please never mix families with teenagers, even though they pay same. Or do not let drunk people in your business, to avoid situations like this.

SwedenThe standard of the hotel rooms was just too basic, first thought is that this has to be an old hospital or maybe dorm room at school (it is still my guess) I guess we could tell it wasn’t going to be super fancy rooms and with shared toilet och showers but this was just too basic.
The breakfast was nice.

United StatesI wish that the hotel had been less busy with tour groups, as breakfast was crowded. It seemed like being on a huge cruise ship. It's probably best to go down to breakfast right when it opens, to beat the crowds.
The staff were very helpful to us. The front desk manager allowed us to use the phone to contact whale watch company about a cancellation due to bad weather. We loved our room, which was large, clean, quiet, had comfortable bedding, a good shower, and overlooked a wooded area near the botanical garden (highly recommended, by the way). The morning breakfast buffet was worth the cost, as there was a variety of hot and cold dishes and plenty of options for vegetarians like my husband and me.
