Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe jacussi was lukewarm. It was nice and clean, a great experience but definately not the hot water that we expected from a jakuzzi.
The house is easy to access. We managed to see the nothern lights from here, it is truely a great spot! I highly recommend, it is comfortable for 4 people, and an unforgetable experience.

Portugalthe shower could be fixed, and the water wasn't very hot
I loved everything. House in the middle of a farm, as soon as we entered the property we saw the horses. We followed and received the code for our little house. A doll's house, equipped with everything you need. And there was even a jacuzzi with hot water, fantastic!

ChinaYou can't take a dip in the pool, at least not in winter, the water isn't hot enough.
Very nice cabin, in the middle of the wilderness but easy to find.

United KingdomOK, if I have to say something negative it would be that the hot tub is only 38 degrees - 40 would be preferable! I've been spoilt by Iceland!
Lovely cabins Great location - DEFINITELY walk up to the crater, it's a great walk, 45 mins each way and you can stand on the rim of an actual crater!

Latvia"Hot tub" is actually quite cold tub, as it has a natural water of ~36-37 degrees, which means that in winter it gets colder on the surface and the actual temperature is about 35. The way to the house was all covered in deep snow, so it wasn't clear where to park the car and how to get to the house with dry shoes.
To start with - this was the place where we saw Aurora lights, right out of the window of the house. Having a private "hottub" was also good. The place was rather cheap for Iceland

United KingdomThe hot tub was unusable sadly, nowhere near hot enough with warnings everywhere saying “Don’t change it” but we should have contacted the owners to see if they could heat it up as it was only lukewarm. Shower was useable and hot but water pressure wasn’t great.

SwitzerlandEverything was ok and claen, a good stay for a family, we were only a couple. There is everything and a big space, nothing missed, we had a small problem with the heating at arrival, we announced that and was easily and quick repaired (we appreciated that very much). Even if the structure has some years, you can see that it's good managed, Position is also very strategic, for visiting the Snæfellsnes peninsula (with a nice volcano 2 Km walk beneath).

HungaryThere was a hot tub filled with water, ready for us to use, but there was some goofy black thing covering the wood base of the hot tub, which was honestly quite disgusting, so obviously, we didn’t use it. Despite the fact, that in about 40 kms there simply isn’t any oppurtinity to buy basic groceries like coffee, milk, tea, bread etc... ( Eventhough there were a basic, usual standard items provided in our previous seven accomodations in Iceland,) There wasn’t any provided in this cottage. Our two daughter's slept on the bunk bed, but there wasn't a ladder attached or anything like that to access the upper bed. The bathroom is smelly, way out of date, water pressure is non-existent jn the shower... It was okay, our daughter's loved the Icelandic horses, but I wouldn't want to stay there anymore in the future, because for less money we got more in other accomodations in Iceland. You just have to look around.
The Icelandic horses.

United KingdomVery exposed site when had strong winds, felt sorry fir the campers but not a problem in the chalet. Geothermal water in the hot tub was warm rather than hot, but still very enjoyable.
Large chalet with everything provided and comfortable. Good views from the patio area. Quick response when we said that coffee machine not working, with new one provided same day. Lovely walk to the nearby crater although very windy at the top.

United StatesOnly issue we had was trouble flushing the toilet temporarily. Before we ckd out, it had apparently fixed itself.🤷🏻♀️As we were away all day, it wasn’t a serious problem.
The location was very good for our travels around the Snaeff… peninsula. It turned out that the trailhead for Eldborg crater (mentioned in Rick Steves’ handbook) was on the property. We didn’t make the hike, though, because we’d been to another crater with easier access. Highly recommend this site for campers! There were quite a few campers on the grounds, and a large building with bathrooms, showers and a large room with picnic tables- especially appreciated in rainy weather, I suspect. We were in a large cabin with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen and comfortable living room. There were 4 small cabins that I suspect were small versions of the same.
