Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

PhilippinesThe bathroom didn't have a ventilation system and the room would heat up when someone took a bath. Otherwise everything is OK.
Very near the train station with lots of restos and food joints, convenience stores and groceries. It's a quiet environment very near the sumo arena and near parks and the Sumida river so you can enjoy a nice peaceful walks daily. Our room was spacious for Japanese hotel standards. It's an old hotel so expect old fixtures but facilities are clean. Some reviews say that it's noisy because it's near the train station but it's not bothersome at all. Staff are very friendly and communicate well. Special thanks to Mr Saito for helping us check in easily. Towels and slippers are replaced daily and soaps and toiletries are refilled regularly. Very good hotel! Very recommended.

AustraliaNot that we minded, but the location adjacent to Ryōgoku Station means you will have the sound of trains through the day and into the first part of the night.
We stayed here for a couple nights at the end of our Japan holiday and found it to be lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is fantastic, literally overlooking the Ryōgoku Station with tons of dining options around. It was great to have access to a balcony too.

I had stayed at this hotel about 15 years ago and, apart from a name change, is exactly the same. The rooms are a little tired but clean and comfortable. Its location immediately beside the train station makes it easy to travel to other parts of Tokyo.

Extremely good location right next to Ryogoku station in the heart of Sumo. Even if it was right on top of the train tracks the noise was not a problem due to modern windows. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom modern with a nice bath. The room was spacious with three beds and extra sofa bed. Perfect when travelling with family.

Excellent hotel, in good position if you travel by train, well connected to the main backbone of the public transports. Breakfast is not included, but a very good cafe' close to the reception offers western style breakfast, and other places are around as alternative.

the views from our family room were spectacular. the room was large and comfortable. the jacuzzi bath was fun. the neighbourhood is interesting and we enjoy encountering the sumo wrestlers in the streets around the hotel

NorwayThere is pretty little space, but this is pretty typical for hotels in Japan unless you're ready to spend a lot of money.
The hotel has a fantastic location for exploratory trips in Tokyo — very close to the Ryogoku station. This also means shops and cafés nearby. The are is somewhat busy, but it didn't disturb us much. There is little space in the room, but the facilities are decent. We were very happy to have a single room for all us three. The room had a tea set (kettle, cups, tea bags), fridge and desk, tiny bath tub and toiletries. The personal was very friendly. The hotel is a bit old-fashioned, but offers great value for money from our perspective.

CanadaThe property still uses old fashioned room keys and insists you leave your key with reception when leaving the hotel. It's slightly inconvenient and old fashioned. Also, there should be a better desk chair in the room, not just a short stool.
Excellent value for the quality and location. My room had a balcony and was very bright. It was spotlessly clean.
