How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I liked paying for Breakfast included as well as the VIP lounge it was excellent. The staff was polite and knowledgable. The location was PERFECT. Close to main part of Dotonbori and easy access to the subway. Room was spacious and bathroom was also good.

The windows need to be sound-proof/ closed fully!
Really really excellent location for dotonburi and shinsaibashi. I literally took only 5 min to walk from there back to the hotel. Wonderful when travelling with family/ when one is tired after shopping

- TV programs were all in Japanese except for one CNN English Channel . - Check-out time should be later perhaps at 12pm instead of 11am as it’s check-in time is 3pm .
- Less than a minute walk away from Dotonbori, the heart of Osaka - Clean - A good spread of breakfast - Good security measures . At a certain time at night, its main entrance requires guests to use their access card to open it .

The half-height window can be claustrophobic for some, and guests are unable to enjoy the view anyway without stepping on the sofa/ daybed.
Great location, Dotonbori is just a very short walk, giving plenty of eating & shopping options around. There's plenty of self-help luggage storage space on the lobby that you can use while waiting for your room to be ready or after checking out with plenty of time to kill. The hotel itself looks like like a refurbished old building (the lift looks outdated) but nicely decorated & very clean.

Location was excellent. Rooms comfortable and clean. Cafe on the ground floor served very good pancakes ! They were also able to forward our luggage to our next destination in Japan.

Construction outside the hotel was noisy and causes congestion and hard to flag for taxis.
Location was superb, very close to Namba station (exit 14) and Dotonburi (restaurants).

loading/unloading luggage can be a bit difficult if you're driving (no porch)

The area can get a lot of rowdy because of the crowd though. Can hear sirens at night due to hotel's proximity to major road and tourist attractions.
I wanted to stay in Dontonburi, and the hotel was perfect for that; it is close to all of the attractions there. It is within reasonable walking to a subway/rail line for easy access to other parts of Osaka. The breakfast was incredible too. It was a Japanese-style breakfast with some Western elements. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family in Osaka.

For the price, nothing. However this isn't a particularly luxurious place. It does the job.

The room facing the road is not sound proof, especially in the night, can hear motorbikes and cars on the road. So if one is a light sleeper, one will surely hear the noise. No English programs on TV, only CNN is available.
The location of Cross Hotel Osaka is superb. It is easily accessible to many shopping malls and eateries. The rooms are very clean and cosy. Very nice rooms. Breakfast has very good spread of Japanese food and some continental food.
