This is a very well-equipped and well-located guesthouse. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, seasonings and spices, there is lots of free coffee/tea/snacks, and there is even free skincare in the girl’s shower room. The guesthouse is right next door to Gyomu Super for super low cost snacks and groceries. Everything is clean and staff are very responsive and friendly. The kitchen/dining area is wonderful for hanging out in and meeting other travellers. Highly recommend staying here!!

The staff are incredibly accommodating and very kind. I arrived past the check-out time but the staff member stayed 20 minutes past and then took the appropriate time to show me around. Furthermore, the following day I had homemade strawberry jam that an elderly lady made that was taking care of the guesthouse. It felt like a very Japanese household. I fully enjoyed it. I wanted to stay another night but it was fully booked. In that predicament, the same staff member helped me by telling me another place. I’m very thankful.

Only 1 wash basin at the bathroom so it requires some choreography for those washing their hands after using the toilet and those using the hair dryer or mirror

Very friendly staff. If you have any problems they are always ready to help look for solutions. Also got some nice recommendations for restaurants in the area. All the facilities are kept very clean. Some of the staff also speaks fluent english.

The shower water heater needs to be turned on every time which is fine but I wasn't informed and there isn't an English sign to tell us. My roommate had a cold shower every night because she didn't know. The rooms are also pretty cramped, walls are thin so you can hear everything from the toilet to your neighbors next door. Also wish the bed curtains blocked out light better, they're pretty thin.

Friendly host, clean facilities, affordable. The location is a little out of the main town but close enough to . It's about a 20 min walk to hakata station or tenjin. Right across canal City though. There are buses nearby but still an 8min walk to get to a bus. It is super budget friendly however.

Fukuoka Guest House Jikka was the best place I have stayed at while in Japan. Upon my arrival, I received a warm welcome from Peter, one of the staff members, who kindly invited me to join a gathering for dinner with fellow guests. I really enjoyed that since it can be hard to meet people while traveling alone. Peter also offered valuable recommendations for exploring Fukuoka. The location is nice and it is really easy to come and go as you please. I also talked to Ray, another staff member, and he was very helpful as well. Overall, I would say the community aspect at Fukuoka Guest House Jikka made it a perfect place for single or couple travellers.

There was a sign saying 'lower voice after 10pm' at the first floor but some travellers didn't follow it, which made other people wake up in the middle of the night.
