Nothing, we only wish we could have stayed longer.

The owners are absolutely lovely and kind and would do anything for us. They are so sweet and made us feel at home. Even drove us to the local Funuoka Onsen. The garden room is beautiful and we never wanted to leave. This is my second time staying here, first with friends in an upstairs room and this time I wanted to show my boyfriend. We felt emotional at how happy we felt here. We will return every time we come to Kyoto.

We enjoyed staying at the HANA Nishijin Guesthouse, a 100 year house in a quiet neighborhood in Kyoto. Our room had access to a garden, which was a peaceful place to relax after a long day of touring Kyoto. I also enjoyed the foot massager in the sunroom. The traditional Japanese beds were incredibly comfortable. We were in Japan for 1 week and I had my best night sleep here! The breakfast is basic, but enough to get you started. The hosts are incredibly nice and welcoming. We got a small tour of the area when they walked us to a local restaurant, where we had amazing ramen. The bathroom is shared, but this was never an issue. The place is very well organized to ensure we all had privacy and space. This isn't close to the city train line, but there are bus stops conveniently located, 3-5 minutes away from the guesthouse walking.

The hosts of this property were simply wonderful. They were both so kind and friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. They helped us locate local restaurants, and gave us such an at-home experience. There was a nice offering of food in the morning including rolls, ramen, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juices. It was just what we needed to get our day started. The house is impeccably clean and perfectly laid out with every little detail thought through.

Very cozy and beautiful place. I liked that there was some bread and yogurt, tea and good coffee without extra cost available. Small detail, but improves the experience :) Also, there is a washing machine and laundry dryer for a small price. Hosts are very nice and ready to help if necessary.

Nothing really. We knew it was far from main area and opt for the location for a change.

The house was nice. Traditional. Room was clean. Washing machine and dryer are always a plus. Complementary breakfast and snack. Owners are very helpful. Dropped us and few others to the Golden Pavillion. He showed us all the food places on the way to the temple. We were thinking to rent a bike but it was raining and the owner was very helpful in trying to find us bike rental place. We got to meet other guests and chatted with them in the living room. Located at Nishijin. Very close to Kitano Tenmangu Temple and Kamishichiken. Close to Golden Temple and a station for Randen line to Arashiyama. In a quieter area compared to Gion, which was good. Child friendly. The owner provided a little kid chair and toy knowing we have a little kid. That was very sweet of them. Thank you.

The shower was abit confusing to set up and the tapware is connected to the bath. I wish they have some instructions.

The hosts are very welcoming, super nice and chill, even give us a short tour around the nearest temple. Our futon experience was great! It was so comfortable to sleep in. Much softer than the bed in the hotel to be honest. The place is really clean and homey. It's close to the train station and supermarket which is super convenient.

The staff is really nice, they show us around and give us a lot of good advice. I really enjoyed my stay here I recommend to book early in advance to have the chance to stay for a couple nights.

Our stay here was lovely. The house and rooms are awesome and they have everything you could possibly need. The location is in one of the quieter areas of Kyoto. It is in a lovely residential area. Funaoka is in walking distance and we really enjoyed going to the baths in the evening. The owners were so friendly and helpful! They even offered us a ride to the train station because it was raining. Really outstanding hospitality. When we come to Kyoto again, we would love to stay again!

We felt so cared for by the hosts of the house <3 they even went to meet us at the bus station as well as showed a lovely ramen place nearby. The house itself is an amazing historical space which is fully equipped with the modern facilities. If you want to have a quiet romantic stay with your loved one - it is a perfect place! The area around is absolutely charming with tiny old buildings and a beautiful temple nearby.

The walls are paper thin except for the shower, so making any noise can be heard all around the house when everything else is quiet.

It was amazing to stay in a 110 year old family home. There was a wide variety of free food and the iced tea was great. The owners are super welcoming and very kind.

The hosts are so incredibly friendly, our flight was delayed and we arrived very late but they waited for us to check in and even showed us the way to a local restaurant even though it was 1 in the morning! The place has a very nice feel of being in an old traditional Japanese house and is very clean

Great location in Kyoto's oldest Geisha distribution! The host was amazing and made sure we always had something for breakfast. They were also extremely helpful in showing us all the best places to see and eat at.
